question from a new poster collector...

I'm starting my poster collection and I would like to know if there is a web site with all the posters??? To start looking for the ones I like ... something like pjcollectors.com for all the LP's, CD's, etc...

Its the best site out there. My advice is to sign up for an account and set up your "wanted" listing so that people looking to sell theirs know where to look.

Collecting for value days are long gone - with pj prints anyway
but if you still like them, collecting them is cool and there's never been a better time whilst values are well down

I need to agree. Collecting posters makes so much fun. :thumbup:
I'm still a "newbie" in collecting posters. It's a pleasure to take my picture book (my mylar) and flip though the posters. Sometimes I find moments listening to one of my PJ vinyls and watching posters.
btw - it's still a thrill to get a poster before the concerts :crazy:

good for you, there seems to be too many people hung up on these things being mass produced, as if they only buy them for future value or their perceived rarity..

buy them if you like them, appreciate them and will enjoy them, and even more so if you can frame and hang them....the value means nothing.....

another thing I'd advise would be to invest in the ames poster book - its a great reference tool and contains a good portion of the Pj prints out there

I don't care about buying for value. I don't care about buying for rarity. I'm not buying to show off to collector dweebs, none of which I actually personally know. I collect for two reasons: I want the posters from the shows I've been to, and I want posters that I think look utterly badass. Signed/numbered? Don't give a shit. Not mint? As long as you don't charge me mint price and it's not a disaster (like a big crease through the middle), don't give a shit.

I understand some of the posters I want have high values and will cost some money, and I'm ok with that. I'm in it to own artwork that makes me happy.

great info... let's see how it goes... I'll start with the 10c sales for the '09 tour and then let's see wich ones are a piece of art for me (that's what I care ) I wanted to have the ones for the shows I've been to but unfortunately didn't like those... :roll:

I wasn't a poster collector and still am not..... but there was a one week stretch, about a month ago, where I spent $600 bucks! :shock:

Some of the prints from the shows I've actually been to I just outright don't care for (Spectrum '09 prints, e.g.). Those will be part of my personal PJ history and will live in an art portfolio. But that's what got me collecting to begin with: personal history.

maybe someone (here or elsewhere) selling used? i checked ebay already

what about alternate options (dont mention framing smart asses...thats even more expensive )
