Just picked up Disintegration on vinyl. Was always a casual fan of theirs but never sat down and listened to one of their albums front to back. Safe to say Disintegration is new in my top 10 favorite albums of all time.
I love that album. I am also a big fan of The Head on the Door.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for an update. :) I’d love some real news about a new Cure album, but if history has taught us anything…

Robert Smith is probably sitting on a treasure trove of unreleased material that I hope will see the light of day. Someday.

Robert Smith has got to be one of the most underrated guitar players alive.

For some reason, no one really recognizes any of the great new wave/punk guitar players as "guitar heroes"

The guy is my hero. How he’s handled this is incredible. To see bands like PJ and Bruce participate in this shit is disgusting. I’m way more offended by this than the fact that they’re playing Texas. I know. Weird.

Smith is the current standard all musicians should aspire to.
I'm sure he's making plenty of money this year from touring and lives quite well but doesn't stick it to his fans. Charges a fair price for his (and the band's) services.

People need a reminder that this doesn't in fact have to do with the market being turned upside down by streaming and that this isn't just so they can do business with Ticketmaster.  I like that Robert calls it like it is.

If the guys want to become a high dollar nostalgia act, great. At least be up front about it and don't pretend you have to charge premium prices so "fans" can afford $162 upper deck obstructed view seats.  And lets face it at this point we are getting less than what we were getting when tickets were less than 1/4 of the price.

I just gotta hand it to Robert Smith for blowing the lid off the whole it isn't about greed it's about market value angle, or any other pathetic justifications for the ridiculous cost of event tix these days.

I saw this photo on FB recently:
The Cures Robert Smith gives update on bands upcoming new album

One of the responses cracked me up.  Said, "It looks like shredded wheat."

I have tickets for MSG in June. I can’t wait. I saw them back in 1988 and then again at their RRHOF induction a few years ago. I could not believe we got some of our fees refunded due to Robert Smith’s insistence. First time I have ever seen TM give money back.

I can’t wait for msg in June. Watched a bunch of videos from the first few shows and they sound incredible, not surprised.  Looks like about 2:45 long set.

Getting excited! Going to N2 in Atlanta, late June. Haven’t seen them since the Bloodflowers tour.
