could be the same deal with MSG-hold four dates, see how they sell, then add dates
this band wouldn't have a problem selling out msg at all. that's silly to even write that. i bet even a ed solo concert can sell out at msg. this is the most bs thread i've ever seen on the porch. gotta love those trolls. i liked the spamming trolls on the old better.

    of course they can
    but thats not the point
people were speculating as to why non-consecutive dates might be announced.
    I gave them the reason.

and just about anybody can "sell out" MSG because TM only releases about 20% of the available tickets to the public for MSG shows ;)

There is that potential. However, this claim was the OP's first post, and those dates were an easy-guess from the dates we already know are on hold... and the OP's second post was:

Jersey show is in the new giant stadium

...and we all know that's not gonna happen. You can see Giants Stadium from MSG. The ticket sales would cannibalize each other, and PJ's draw, however strong in NYC/NJ area would not sustain 154,000 tickets in one week, in the same market. Keep in mind, MSG and Giants are about 10 or so miles away from each other, and Giants is HUGE. PJ comfortably sells out 18,000 in MSG. For four nights even. 82,000 seats at Giants is another matter... and PJ was never a fan of stadiums, if I recall correctly.

So, unless the OP decides to grace us with his presence for a third time, I'm calling bullshit on this being original and accurate information.

It's not Giants Stadium anymore. It's Meadowlands Stadium

    Let's do Downing Stadium.

I'm pretty sure they tore Downing Stadium down. Besides, Randall's Island is a terrible place to see a show.

    god please no stadium shows
and I agree, if they were to play the new football stadium, I do not see them playing an arena as well.

I sincerely hope that the MSG dates come to fruition and please no more talk about stadiums, you might give kelly curtis or live nation an idea.

they did, but they redid it and now its Carl Ichan stadium and it actually has seats
it would be a better alternative to a football or baseball stadium, despite its less than convenient location

I don't get people's fascination with stadium shows. You do understand you're only gonna be seeing them from the jumbotrons unless you line up like the day before, right? (which I definitely would)

who cares if you see the band or not. I've seen bruce springsteen at giant stadium 2 times and had more fun at those concerts than I had at other concerts. A double bill of soundgarden and pearl jam can easily sell out the new giant stadium.

True! Though who would play drums for Pearl Jam if Soundgarden is on the same bill? I can't see Matt play behind the drums 4 something hour's a night.

Me. I asked Ed, from the front row, in NJ in 1998 if I could play drums. It's only fitting this occurs 12 years later. :D

Fuckin' eh! How about this, next show in Jersey we get you booked. You'll play drums for Encore 1. It will have to be Porch, Satan's Bed, Blood, Brain Of J., Do The Evolution & Go. Are you up for the challenge?
