I was listening to Tori Amos on the way home and it had me thinking about who would make a good female duo with Eddie.

I was thinking Tori would, she can hit some deep notes and love do sing the HMMMMM and UMMMM's like Eddie does.

I liked Tori in the 90's, I think she may have done something with Trent Reznor before. But she still has a great voice and would probably work well with Eddie.

uh.. on "you are free" (cat power's 2003 album). he sings on 2 songs. good woman (the greatest song ever written that wasn't written by pearl jam) and evolution.

even though he only sings backingish vocals on the second half of the song, good woman is by far my favourite (he comes in at 2.23 though you can hear it much better if you buy the mp3 and can hear him the way he was recorded!)

and evolution he sings the whole way through with her..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdgkYFEQTjE (horrible quality.. so you should also..buy this one) :)

Thats some amazing stuff, thanks a lot for posting that.
  • I said it in the last female duet with Eddie thread, and I'll say it again...

EJ Barnes and Eddie doing Neil Young's "Helpless" in Chicago was amazing!

I'd love to see sometime Pearl Jam singing with Johnette Napolitano, now that would be an awesome duo. Both of them (Ed and Napolitano) with powerful voices and great personality.

I loved this as well...it is much better than the Christmas single version with Corin Tucker.

  • Only one woman comes to mind that I think would work perfectly: Aimee Mann. This would be brilliant.

Soooo much better... (sorry, just kind of ambivalent about Corin..) I've gotten a chance to talk to EJ at some of her and Liam's solo shows and she is just so sweet and humble. When Ed first asked her to sing Helpless with him she told me her thought was "Me? Seriously? I'm just the girl who sings with the opener!" Oooh I love it. I might reminisce for a while now. :)
