I did have fun, honestly my family despair of me as I can be such a big kid in the snow. It's looked a bit like narnia here today

Berlin '09 is a great boot, I listen to it quite a bit. Makes me even happier to think I'll be at Berlin '10 :D
Good job they let you leave early, otherwise you'd still be trying to get home!

Our forecast seems to change depending on what weather report you watch!
But it seems we should get more snow over the next few days at some point...

with the possibility of freezing temperatures :D seems we're going for the record at the moment  . It was funny watching them explain on the news how this is related to global warming (cos it's warm in the southern hemisphere :D hmmmmmmmmmmmm )

We got sent home from work today too... they told us at 1 that we'd finish at 4 in case it freezes, which was nice! Thank fuck tomorrow's Friday.

Most people just seem to think that global warming means everywhere will just be a little warmer. It's a hell of a lot more complicated and unpredictable then that. Weather like this COULD be a direct result from glibal warming and it could become more frequent in the coming years.

Think I better consider moving south then. :(
  • Another day, another snowflake...

Got me wellyboots on AGAIN today :D Weather reports are saying we'll have more light snow today and tomorrow and then heavy snow on Sunday

I'm actually starting to like it! I've been walking home from work (hence the wellyboots), really enjoying the views and feeling like a child stomping through drifts  My cats went out in it on Wednesday for the first time. One really loved it and was playing with it, the other tried to walk on it once, shot back in the house and then sat just inside the patio doors hating the world

Bring on more snow, I say!
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    TRAITOR

Nah, wouldn't really go :D . But I may start knitting again, I don't think I own enough jumpers. I also think taking a Ray Mears survival course might be a good idea. Then I will be able to build us a little hut somewhere and scavenge for food should the need arise ;):D

I got into the office today, all be it in walking shoes and jeans rather than a suit and heels.
Sun is out and is melting some of the snow, but we've had an accident already outside of here, a motorcyclist sliding off. The noise was horrid, but he seemed ok.
I'm doubting I'm going to make my friends leaving dinner tonight (eek, she has paid for 20 of us to have a three course meal!)

It's even more hazerdous when the snow starts turning into ice. Gotta watch yourself.

I can't drive, so apart from riding my bike (I love off roading but there ain't NO WAY i'm riding in this :o ), I have to walk everywhere. It's nice if you're wrapped up warm :D I don't envy you on a bus though, I have to get one into town later and i'm not looking forward to it... I think i'd be warmer walking :?

(Some of us haven't been on the boards because we've been working ;) )
We are well though mate! Looking forward to spending the weekend in the snow :) We've hardly had time to enjoy it :( Don't worry, we'll wear our wellies and our thermals :D

Well, no more snow today here in Cornwall.
It's forecast again for tomorrow night/Sunday/Monday though and it remains really icy.
My friend is hating it, I asked her how she was and explained the fun I had yesterday and this is the reply I got -

stuck in for 3 days now and will soon have to start using my tins of food! Beans on toast for me for the next few days if it doesn’t clear. Think ive lost a stone too trudging back and forth from the river with buckets of water since the pipes are frozen! All the horses in, so mucking out is currently 3 times a day! Im having to drag my dog out for a pee - yes, its all great fun!

Not going out tonight now, my friend is rather miffed, which I understand but the meal is in a village pub miles away and I currently have no way of getting home so said I couldn't go.

I think I am going to see if I can catch a bus home in a bit.

we were snowed in at my Mom's house on Christmas Day in Lawrence, KS....we thought we'd have to spend the day away from the rest of our family until my brother in law drove over & parked in the middle of a major intersection. we walked 3-4 blocks with our hot side dishes (for dinner at my sisters) to the car. i'm sure we looked like idiots, but it was a fun memory & definitely a Christmas we won't forget!

could be... but when you consider the fact they had the same weather in 1963... and before that it was in the 40's  hmmmm... seems they've had this before :? that's strange if it's only a new thing  :D I doubt that, even in prehistoric years, weather was exactly the same every year.
