I would say it's horrible but this is the view from one office window:

We've already seen ducks skating and foxes leaving tracks... It's quite beautiful and there's loads of wildlife enjoying the weather too :) I finish work at 3pm and I have my wellyboots so i'm gonna prolong my walk home, making sure I go via fields and any area with virgin snow

I walked in virgin snow to the train station. Managed to get a train to work. Now the question is will I be able to get home :?
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

    :P

I've never ever ever been snowed in. Never missed school because of the weather or anything, as far as I can recall. I do remember that we didn't have to go out during recess if the temperature was -15 C or lower.

EDIT: That pic's taken with my phone so the quality isn't great.

Same here. Never missed school or work because of the snow. This is the first time. They said it would be the first signs of global warming

Yeah, we've got at least six inches pretty much everywhere. There's been more a-coming nearly all day so far. At least the snow plow guys are busy. :D

Hmmmm... so the first sign of global warming is that it will get colder???????????? Seriously, how fuckin stupid do they think we are? clever bastards though... I've already heard them try to explain how snow in the winter is related to global warming  GIVE IT UP and wait til the warm summer and THEN tell us about the ice melting... we may just believe ya then!

    Sorry, rant over :)

I'm snowed in too... I've done an extreme clean today and even built my first snowman since I was probably a kid and he's super cool... I'm gonna call him Dick 8-) just cos!

I tried to drive to work yesterday, but only managed a mile in approx. 20 minutes, so I turned round and worked from home for the day. Today's been much better.

We are expecting 1-5" depending on what part of our area one is in - Southern Illinois/Western Kentucky/Southeastern Missouri/Northwestern Tennessee. The grocery stores were jam packed yesterday and will be today with everyone stocking up on food. I don't care. After last year's ice storm dry snow doesn't seem that bad. However...... this extended period of temps below freezing really sucks!

we are expecting up to 6 inches tomorrow. Only problem, it's supposed to hit after I'm already at work :o

I would hate to be snowed in AT work. I have a 35-40 min. drive to and from, so I usually take the new car. GF's drive is only 10 min. but our other car is a freakin 95 Mustang with rear wheel drive and its a bitch to drive in even a dusting, so I will be driving that and the GF will have the 2010 Mazda which will go like a champ in the snow.

I'm really going to be pissed off if I can't get home tomorrow !!
    Peace, Love.

We always had snow days when we were kids :)

But the transit system here is terrible when it snows, it turns into a free for all and your better off taking whatever bus happens to come along - despite where its going - cause there might not be another one coming.

Its even worse at my university... since its on a small mountain. Classes usually get canceled at the least bit of snow because the buses won't go up... So if it snows when you're in class, you better get to the bus stop quick before the last one leaves to take you back down!

    That said...
i'm getting jelous of everyone having snow! Texas? UK?!
WHAT ABOUT POOR VANCOUVER.... my husky doggie and i are patiently awaiting a winter wonderland!

You want to talk about stress???

Try driving an 18 wheeler, in the city of Chicago, and suburbs, while 8 inches of snow is falling.....
    Take me piece by piece.....

that would suck for sure. dont semi's handle pretty well in the snow though ? just a guess due to all the extra weight.

We had some snow...of the 275 schools in Cornwall, 215 were closed. Most of the snow near me had melted by lunch time and I was one of a handful that made it into work. We are meant to get some more snow over the next few days so I can hope :D
I want to build a snowman and do snow angels...

:( Oh no! We've swapped, I'm at home today! I tried to get in but got turned around by the Police half way there as the roads were too dangerous to drive on from there on in.
More snow falling here today, in heavy showers of snow rather than all the time, so it is sunny outside now but grey on the horizon!
