God, I wish.
I live a 20 min walk from work so I just have to don wellyboots and get my ass to my desk.
:(Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -

I would say it's horrible but this is the view from one office window:
And this is the view from my office window:
We've already seen ducks skating and foxes leaving tracks... It's quite beautiful and there's loads of wildlife enjoying the weather tooI finish work at 3pm and I have my wellyboots so i'm gonna prolong my walk home, making sure I go via fields and any area with virgin snow

I've never ever ever been snowed in. Never missed school because of the weather or anything, as far as I can recall. I do remember that we didn't have to go out during recess if the temperature was -15 C or lower.
EDIT: That pic's taken with my phone so the quality isn't great."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -

Same here. Never missed school or work because of the snow. This is the first time. They said it would be the first signs of global warming

Yeah, we've got at least six inches pretty much everywhere. There's been more a-coming nearly all day so far. At least the snow plow guys are busy."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! Its about 6 inches deep in some places here...clever bastards though... I've already heard them try to explain how snow in the winter is related to global warming  GIVE IT UP and wait til the warm summer and THEN tell us about the ice melting... we may just believe ya then!
Sorry, rant over

I tried to drive to work yesterday, but only managed a mile in approx. 20 minutes, so I turned round and worked from home for the day. All the pics- soooo lovely- we are to get a dusting of fluffy sleet here in Georgia tomorrow
getting excited!!0 -
We are expecting 1-5" depending on what part of our area one is in - Southern Illinois/Western Kentucky/Southeastern Missouri/Northwestern Tennessee. The grocery stores were jam packed yesterday and will be today with everyone stocking up on food. I don't care. After last year's ice storm dry snow doesn't seem that bad. However...... this extended period of temps below freezing really sucks! The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0

I work from home so no excuses for me. Just can't get out. My wife is telling everyone she had 8 inches last night. :shock:0

we are expecting up to 6 inches tomorrow. Only problem, it's supposed to hit after I'm already at work
I would hate to be snowed in AT work. I have a 35-40 min. drive to and from, so I usually take the new car. GF's drive is only 10 min. but our other car is a freakin 95 Mustang with rear wheel drive and its a bitch to drive in even a dusting, so I will be driving that and the GF will have the 2010 Mazda which will go like a champ in the snow.
I'm really going to be pissed off if I can't get home tomorrow !! :evil:Peace, Love.

We always had snow days when we were kids
But the transit system here is terrible when it snows, it turns into a free for all and your better off taking whatever bus happens to come along - despite where its going - cause there might not be another one coming.
Its even worse at my university... since its on a small mountain. Classes usually get canceled at the least bit of snow because the buses won't go up... So if it snows when you're in class, you better get to the bus stop quick before the last one leaves to take you back down!
That said...
i'm getting jelous of everyone having snow! Texas? UK?!
WHAT ABOUT POOR VANCOUVER.... my husky doggie and i are patiently awaiting a winter wonderland!live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -
8-9 inches in Chicago the next couple of days....
Which means I will be pulling the hair out of my fucking head, behind the wheel of my semi....
You want to talk about stress???
Try driving an 18 wheeler, in the city of Chicago, and suburbs, while 8 inches of snow is falling.....Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....0
