1095 Days and 34 shows!!!

I just received my renewal email from the 10 Club. I looked in my profile and my membership runs out on January 25th.

Then I realized that I have received the so called Holiday single ONE time in the three years I have been a member, and the kicker is that the "best touring band" in the world played a grand total of 34 U.S. shows in the 1095 days I was a member. Including the Vic, The Who honors thing, and The Beacon.

My membership number always sucked so no moving up the line for most, but just wanted to say goodbye because I will not be renewing.

    I haven't seen the band live since June of 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Sure they have played in states around me several times but
    I just don't have the money for travel !
    Even if I never see them live again or never receive another X-Mas single
    I will always be a member of this fan club because I fucking love Pearl Jam :thumbup:

    I was a member for a year in 03, got no tour, signed up again in 06 and couldn't go for different reasons. PJ have played Scotland twice, once in a tiny venue and one arena 10 years ago so you're not the only one. Just got my tour shows for June sorted and I'm elated. Have faith, stick around and don't risk kicking yourself if there's a US tour maybe on the horizon and you get no tickets. :|

    Are people looking for pity when they post these threads? I don't get why they do it. If you're not satisfied fine, but do you really have to post about it? Not trying to be a dick, just curious....

    I have only been a member of the 10C for 2 years but have been a fan since 92. I have only seen PJ 3 times, 1 of those before I was a member. Being a member for only 2 years I know I never will get good 10C seats. My only chances of getting good seats are going with a member with a better # or thorough Ticketmaster. I actually collect PJ vinyl so getting the holiday single every year is worth it for me.

    Not necessarily. Everyone at the 4 LA shows this year had sweet tix. Atleast LA 3&4. Members were limited 1 show only... Also, you could hit the lotto. Ive seen people hit the lotto 5 or 6 times in a single tour alone.

    Personally I don't understand this mentality on here that the "fan" club is some sort of privilege provided free of charge for the benefit of "true" fans. It's a SERVICE, people. You PAY expecting to get something out of it. No one in their right mind would pay for a service that has nothing to offer. Personally, I am not complaining about the ten club, but look at the original poster's argument: Paid for THREE years and only received ONE single (even though he/she was entitled to the THREE that were PAID for) and not enough "local" dates to make it worth paying for the opportunity to buy fan club tickets. Why should he/she shell out more money if they will not be getting a fan club single? And to the person who said that the fan club isn`t about tickets, I have to ask: aside from the single, the newsletter and the tickets, what other incentives are there to pay 20 or 25 bucks? Oh I forgot, the opportunity to spend MORE money on merchandise. I am not always happy with how things are done with the Ten Club, nonetheless I am happy with the SERVICE and I feel it's worth the small fee. Moreover, I appreciate the argument ofthegirl99 makes.

    And for those who are complaining about these types of threads/posts, I have to say I prefer them over the countless "LOOK AT ME, I WON THE LOTTERY" or "I GOT TIX and YOU DIDN't!" posts that do nothing but rub someone's good luck in someone else's face.

    The only rule you should follow is...DON"T let your membership expire.

    I was a member back in the day and let mine expire in 2001. I didn't sign up again until 2009 and am KICKING myself!! My # doubled!!

    Just because you can't or won't see them on tour anytime soon does not mean you won't want to in the future!
