the media reports what the majority of the people want to hear.
does the media really give the people a choice?
no, and i'm not advocating that they do. i'm saying a high number of people read/watch that shit regardless. it's embarassing, it's not even newsworthy.

yeah, i know, but i always hear people say "if the people didn't want to see it they wouldn't show it" and i don't necessarily believe that to be true. i grew up with my parents watching Entertainment Tonight and those kinds of shows are all over the place now as well as the regular news being all over any celebrity gossip and story.
sadly that's what society is more geared towards, combative op/ed shows mixed in with celebrity gossip.
don't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

People read/watch that shit regardless, because they're too lazy to demand better. Studying the psychology of advertising really exposes the mass manipulation the mass media industry does to us every day.
Entertainment news isn't what people WANT to hear, it's what they've become accustomed to, through manipulation tactics.

it has to be entertainment news because real news is "boring" or "too depressing" or both. they spice it up with flashing red and blue lights and a heavy dose of opinion to attract viewers. its a shame because at the same time they are indoctinating their viewers. i don't know how many times a week i will debate someone and they will spout off the same talking point i heard earlier tht day or the day before on fat rush's show or something i had seen on fox...i wish people would take it in and think for themselves sometimes...
