I don't mind them charging. its a nominal one time $1.99. The band can't do everything "for free" as some would like - its entertainment. besides, I would be surprised if they see much if any of the proceeds from this, more likely it would go to whomever they had develop it.
my reaction is that this is a good first pass, which I'm sure they'll update over time.

so now the app let's me do things I could have done yesterday but for another fee.
I mean I have like $250 credit on my iTunes account from various gift cards, so I could care less.
It's just funny that of all the bands with apps (and there are hundreds) that PJ and Metallica are the only two to charge for it, and people are defending that.

This thing is great. yea its not free, but its 2 bucks so who really gives a shit? a pack of cigarettes is 8 bucks now, at least this is something of decent use. I like the record player on it the best, it plays ur pj songs that are on your ipod aleady.

almost every other band that has an iPhone app issues the app as free. $1.99 while not a lot of money, should not be charged for this IMO. It is an extension of the forum, which is free, and if anything should be included with your 10c membership fees.
Looks like a cool app but charging for it is a bad idea. Sure die-hards are going to drop $2 but the rest of the world won't. The idea should be to get the PJ music and new out to the masses. Charging for an app where they want you to buy music is lame IMO.
