Take it for what its worth.....friend of mine who works for XRT said that PJ is gonna headline again this year. He knew about the 05 HOB blues show for charity and the VIC before they happened so I guess he has some cred.

Peace

Hmmm...This year I moved down to college at a different time because of Pearl Jam in Chicago..
...looks like I may be doing it again next year! :D

I haven't seen Pearl Jam at a festival (well, I streamed them playing lolla in 2007), but it sounds like a good chance to actually get close for once!

I think it all depends on what festival too. I've spoken to a ton of people that went to both and the majority agreed that overall that Roo was much ran then Lolla

no doubt about it, bonaroo was insane. it really was a cool trip. between the 3 hour park down country roads to get in, to the people selling nuggets, balloons and who knows what else 2 minutes after you park. to all the music. a major camping festival like that is a must do for anyone that isn't old.

    NO LOLLA PLEASE.

It was the worst PJ show I've ever seen... much shorter, the crowd was just terrible... the sound isnt so great. It's a cash grab by the promoters, sponsors, etc.
  • Bonnaroo was my first and only festival...I was under 30 then and it was insane. Great lineup, but I missed a lot of what I wanted to see while I was waiting in line all day and night to be up front for PJ. I would love to see them at another festival and this time catch more of the festival. Since I've been lucky enough to see them very close a few times I think that's the better approach.

If they play a festival next summer that includes a couple of my other faves I will go for sure.

the year that PJ was at roo was a great lineup. i didnt bother waiting in line to get into the pit for Pearl Jam, because yuo could easily work your way up and get close without being in the pit. I ended up two rows of people off of the rail (behind the "pit") but i understand some people cant enjoy a show if they arent within spitting distance of eddies scrotum

If PJ is going to be in the area for Lolla, they need to make their promised return to Alpine.
  • I wonder if the only North American shows this year are festivals? :? Jazz Fest, Coachella, Lolla...I just hope they throw in a couple regular shows for us too.

but that's lolla. I've been to about 70 PJ shows and Bonnaroo is in my top 10 favorites.

That would be sweet... especially since I bagged Golden Tickets shortly after last year's Lolla. Normally they go on sale early the same year, but they changed it this time. I'd get to see PJ on the cheap!

However, I will not participate in getting as close as possible. The lack of enjoyment and fighting for your spot all day just to have 50,000 people try to force their way in front of you 10 min before the show isn't for me anymore.

I'll enjoy it, with beers and free trips to the restroom, in back!

See you there if it's true! (guess I'll be there even if it isn't true :)
