i heard about it last week ... i do live in toronto where this doctor is ... i posted it but didn't say steroids specifically last week in the other tiger thread ...
but similar to me - take the info with a grain of salt - i was told the story would break in about a week and sure enuf it has ...
1. maybe clutch putter ... but there are no stats to back your statement ... also - if he indeed was the best putter in the world - he would have won every major last year ... basically, his putting lost those majors for him ...
2. it depends on how he's using those steroids ... the guy had major knee surgery ... he could have just used it to help his recovery ... also - how can you say training longer will kill your touch? ... that makes no sense whatsoever ... i would say that golfers that practice the most on their short games are gonna be better in general ...
1. The stats you need to hear are from the other players on tour. They say he's the best but ok we will go with your choice for best putter over the top 100 greatest golfers in the world.
2. Don't be one of those people who put words in others mouths. I never said training longer hurts your putting. I said steriods would hurt his putting because YOU WOULD LOSE YOUR TOUCH AND FEEL. Come on lets be smarter than this ok chief.

2. How would steroids hurt your touch if you are using it recover faster from knee surgery?? Maybe you could make me smarter by educating me on it but seeing as you seem to just say things with no backing whatsoever - I guess that's not gonna happen.
and i'm a 18 handicapper who plays 6-10 rounds a year at most ...

Your right his putting was not that good last year so maybe he was on steriods because like I said steriods would kill your short game.
I'm not saying Eldrick took steroids; I'm not saying he didn't. I'm saying he could have.
For years, I defended a similar guy - Barry Bonds.... awesome talent; awesome "workout routine." Turns out BB took 'roids. As I said earlier; huge paydays (i.e. dividends) + arrogance + nagging injuries + competitiveness + etc. = temptation.
Palmiero wagged his finger, Papi said users should get a year's suspension, A-fraud was thought to be "doing it the right way," Sosa and Mac were SI's Sportsmen of the Year, etc., etc. Other than an exhaustive book and goverment witch hunt  with Bonds, we haven't learned shit about who took steroids and certainly not how or why. Petitte's excuse was weak, A-fraud's was incomplete, Papi's was incomplete, Manny's was non-existent, etc. Maybe I'm getting off point (Eldrick), but here's my question - will the media actually pursue this (ala Bonds) or will they not bother (A-fraud, Glaus, Matt Williams [nicest guy ever], Sheffield, etc.?
Galea (sp?) treated sprinters and Dara Torres. Much like with Bonds, I want to believe in Dara, but is it even possible? "Punishing workout routines (without PEDs)" are no match for Father Time. In today's age, in any sport, the temptation is there. No athlete should be given a pass. Sad, but that's how I see it. Ken Griffey? Sorry, not even him.

FTR I'm not defending the guy. I look at it the same way you do.
