i voted for that...i didn't see any of the options, but, in theory, it would be better than zeppelin's reunion. gov't mule, john paul jones, bob weir, jorma and jack!!! hell yeah.

Hey, let's not forget Pearl Jam IS playing Bonnaroo this year...

They might get nominated for best jammy performance there next year.

And, it must be said... there are a lot of Pearl Jam fans that also enjoy jam bands. (Well, if not a ton, there is me :C) !!! I promise you, if you doubt that, check out Gov't Mule... Warren Haynes is amazing. They play a couple of PJ covers... "Hunger Strike" (w/ Traffic's Dear Mr. Fanatsy thrown in the middle), "Nothing Man," and "Indifference."

I'm heading to the 'Roo this year, and I was hoping that some way, somehow, Warren ended up on stage w/ PJ for a few... but The Allmans canceled, and Mule isn't listed yet this far...

Unfortunately, you can't really see bands like PJ and Radiohead in intimate venues anymore. You won't find a band that can make you rock, dance, and groove all over a ballroom sized venue like UM. It's a different kind of experience. Eddie knows all about it too. Early on (93-95) he was always raising hell about big venues and wanting to play the small clubs. Totally different dynamics.

Go see UM. You'll like them. Download a show for free from archive, first to make sure - I recommend you start with Feb 7, 2004 - it's a crispy soundboard and you get a spectacular note-for-note cover of Shine On You Crazy Diamond, plus some of the sickest guitar work you've ever heard in your life.

I hear ya'. I've seen them a couple of times myself, and I was never disapointed; In the Kitchen, Mulche's, Mrs. Tinkles, all great jams...But then again I'm into the jam-bands like moe., String Cheese, Umphrey's, Keller, etc. that alot of people in this thread seem to hate, which is fine. Not liking it is one thing, just don't call it garbage. I would like to hear Stone and Mike try to pull off some of the double guitar parts bands like moe. and Umphrey's have during their jams. But not everyone likes 20min. jams, and I will admit that none of the vocals from any of these bands come close to matching Eddie. But hey, what am I supposed to do when PJ isn't touring? These bands tour non-stop, year after year; I need some concerts to see in between PJ's every-other-year touring schedule...
