    I'm sorry this makes you so miserable. "Sorry ass team"? LOL...it may not be a recent WS winning team, but its MY team and I'm damn proud of this signing. David Wright is a high character high performance 3rd baseman and all around leader & team 1st guy.
    I'm sorry you couldn't see it in you heart - one full of abundance of championships a plenty - to be happy for him, the long suffering Mets fan and the organization that poses absolutely no threat to you.
    Still pissed about Willie in a Mets uniform back in 72? :roll:

    Oh yeah, taking my personal feelings out of it - there's this also:
    Wright is the Mets' greatest position player EVER.
    Mets all-time leader in runs, hits, doubles, RBIs and WAR = David Wright
    In the "Live Ball Era" he's had the most seasons (6) of at least 20 HR's, 15 SB and .350 obp - Mike Schmidt only had 4 and AFraud had 5.

    "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much" compared to what? Sandy Alderson hasn't been the one giving Bonilla contracts out either...

    shouldn't have called your team "sorry ass." I actually kind of like your squad. certainly preferable to that team in the bronx :x

    good luck....I just don't see wright making a difference. as hard as it was at the time, trading matt williams paid off....

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson spent his first full day at the winter meetings discussing trade options for the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner.

    Alderson said his Monday agenda has been busy with meetings with potential suitors for 20-game winner R.A. Dickey. The knuckleballer is under contract for next season at $5 million, but the Mets are serious about trading him this offseason if an extension cannot be reached.


    The suitors include the Boston Red Sox, according to a baseball source. Red Sox GM Ben Cherington and Alderson met Monday afternoon, with New York looking for top Red Sox prospects Jackie Bradley Jr. and shortstop Xander Boegarts in exchange for the Cy Young Award winner, the source said. However, it's unlikely the Red Sox would part with those two prospects.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Mets continue to aim high in talks with the Kansas City Royals. Multiple sources say the club is still pursuing Kansas City Royals outfield prospect Wil Myers.

    Myers, who turns 22 next week, hit a combined .314 with 37 homers and 109 RBIs in 522 at-bats last season between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha.
