i recommend people listening (if they can find it) the version from the memphis show in 2000. when ed's voice comes on and the crowd immediately gets loud...gives me chills!!!

one of the best versions of a song live from one of the rare ones played!!

mike mccready is on fire too!

    My favorite song on Binaural! My first PJ bootleg was Phila, 9/2/00, and they opened with Of the Girl. Awesome!

    They need to open with this more. Im with ya on the chills thing, I get that every time I listen to Benaroya. I can only imagine what it was like to be there for that one.

    I was a part of the crew that requested it in SLC...Needless to say it was MY highlight of the show and definitely an awesome experience!

    Yeah me three, 11 shows so far and no Of The Girl yet. One of my favourite PJ songs. The Boise Idaho opener version is incredible too - one of the best. If I keep going to shows, I'll get it eventually. How about MSG in May??

    I love it when people post their favorite versions of songs. Thanks! I'll dig this out and listen to it. Of The Girl is one of my favorite songs.

    Mansfield 8/29/2000 ... simply amazing. I've seen them do it a few times, but that one's the best. Could be described just as the one above is. Crowd going nuts, perfect bluesy teasing between Stone and Mike ... so fantastic.

    More recently, they opened with it in San Francisco in 2006, but, it was at like 1.25x the normal speed ... didn't do it for me.

    San Fran did it for me, but I was there and Its the only time I have seen it live. :D

    Awesome song and an even more awesome opener, the way each member has to come in one at a time because theres no way you can all start that song together, and i'm pretty sure mike and stone change their parts up a little bit every time.
