let me know what you think of those cds....and try not to judge their studio cd's by sticks and stones, IMO it's their worst one.

theres a few decent ones but yea its not that good.... wormwood is my fav IMO.

  • ive listened to them a little being a phish, grateful dead, jam bands in general- fan. They are decent nothing amazing, but i did find out that one of my former boss' girlfriends slept with the drummer a while ago when they were going out. They are still together. He hates the band now
  • i dont get the collecting and then tossing of the glow sticks at all...

imo this is a band you need to see live cause listening to them on cd is just not the same

    live music is better

Whoa. I haven't thought of Moe. in years...

I went to the 22d and 3rd moe.down festivals when I was 17/18 but haven't heard them since Wormwood came out, though I'm familiar with all of their music until then.
How do they sound these days?

    * Off to youtube to check out a Rebubula for the first time in about 6 or 7 years....

moe.down is much bigger these days, around 6-7k people but still a very small, family feeling. this year was hands down the best i've been to, and might be the best playing i've heard from moe. in years.

Time to bring this thread back to life...

Anyone pick up the new album on vinyl? I'm wondering if it's even worth it. From what I'm hearing, the deluxe CD is the way to go because the acoustic versions of pretty much all the songs blow away the electric versions. And it appears that the vinyl (and standard CD) only includes the electric songs.

Also, who's in for the Chicago show next month?

And by "new" I mean the one that came out like a year ago.

new cd is different. some songs I like the electric version, other from disc 2. not their best work ever though. great concept with the 2 versions of the cd.

I hit up worcester last month and have snow.down coming up. if I was out in your area I would def. be at the chicago shows, they are playing good lately...they are on jamcruise as we speak

Caught their show last night. It was the first time I've seen them in at least 10 years (not really sure why it's been so long).

I'm pretty sure Rob was sick because he did not sing at all. And I mean AT ALL. No harmonies or anything. He stood well back of his microphone for most of the show. Al even sang the lead part on "St. Augustine"...

...until the encore when they busted out "Rebubula" with Rob taking his rightful place on lead vocals.
