Soup rocks. Last weekend I had the chicken and gnocchi soup at Olive Garden and it was freaking amazing. That and their Italian Wedding soup is the nectar of the gods...

  • Im thinking Saturday will be time for some...

    Homemade Cream of Broccoli.......

    And Sunday....

I will throw a pot roast in the crock pot...Throw in some carrots, potatoes, and spices....And let that cook for 5-6 hours......

Thats all psycological. I've never associated soup with winter. We live in controlled indoor environments, don't we? It still tastes the same. :)

of course it's psychological to a degree, but the point stands. and just b/c we live in controlled temp environments doesn't mean we don't freeze our asses off going to/from these controlled environments, or some work outdoors, and some even choose to enjoy the weather in all seasons! so yes, while psychological, i bet overall more people choose to eat soups and all those traditional 'comfort foods' in the colder months, and lighter/colder fare in the warmer months. i know i do. i definitely associate certain foods with weather. don't think i am alone there, either.

No, I see your point. I was just giving Speedy a hard time.

Personally, I'll eat soup any time of the year and enjoy it just as much. It's always comforting to me.

    well that i knew...;)
    haha.

i'll occasionall have soup in the summer or spring, but nothing tastes as good in the winter or autumn. i'm so glad i brought soup for lunch, b/c after this thread i'd be craving it. of course, i far rather wish i had tortellini en brodo or thai hot & spicy instead of my low-sodium chicken with mini noodles soup-at-hand :D...but it'll do!
