Grievance vs. Insignificance

These two songs seem fairly similiar to me and I wanted to put them head to head.

Even though Grievance was nominated for a Grammy (to my surprise), my vote goes to Insignificance because of the excellant build-up and eventual explosion. You?

    I pledge my "Grievance" to the flag! Both great songs though. There's always one song from the main set that is most memorable to me from a show I've attended. And, it's usually a song that I'm not thinking about too much before the show. For example, before night two in Philly, I wasn't saying "I really want to hear "Grievance." However, when they played it, it was an instant highlight for me.

    It's also a song that I often have in my head while running. "I wanna run to the sea. . . I will feel alive as long as I am free." At the end of a tough run, this sometimes becomes my mantra.

    It's such a close call, but I will go with Grievance. These songs are very, very similar but I just love the end of Grievance.

    Insignificance. This song gets around 3-4 plays a day, on average, for me. 2-3 on my ipod, and another 1-2 on my computer. That isn't to say that I don't listen to the rest of binaural, because that really is such an incredibly underrated album. It's dark, but so thoughtful, and I love the music and lyrics to all the songs...except maybe the album version of light years. After listening to it, I really enjoy "puzzles and games" a lot more now.

    Grievance. No question.

    I enjoy it and it has grown on me, but I don't think Insignificance got quite to where Ed wanted it to go. It wants to be RVM, but comes up just short.
