Heads up, Draft Kings Sportsbook is offering a deal of +500 on the Sixers tonight instead of +180 for PA residents to celebrate their app becoming available in PA. Max bet of 10 bucks but still pretty sweet.
Trailing 98-97 with 1.2 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the 76ers held possession with a sideline inbound pass. Nuggets center Nikola Jokic aggressively fronted Joel Embiid in the paint, resulting in an offensive foul against the 76ers star and effectively icing the game.
Upon further review, the NBA determined the foul should have been charged to Jokic, not Embiid:
During the inbound, Jokic (DEN) places his hand to the opposite side of Embiid's (PHI) hip and brings his hand to a pause. As Jokic releases his hand from Embii's hip, he grasps Embiid's jersey and affects his (freedom of movement). A personal foul should be called instead of an offensive foul.
Denver gained possession, securing a 100-97 victory on a pair of Will Barton free throws following an intentional foul by 76ers big man Al Horford.
How do you blow that big of a lead going into the 4th quarter?
Least they're back home tonight

so according to Brett Brown Embiid was out of shape for the Denver game because of his 2 game suspension (and maybe the altitude in Denver played a bit part). so i guess his load management breaks can't be more than 1 game lest he get out of shape again.
it looks like Al Horford will be managing his load.
Mrs. Horford is pleased
nice win tonight

It's year 3. I've been a Ben Simmons supporter. He's an all star already. He can be a generational talent if he just attempted to shoot the ball. I assumed that would be the next step for him this year. And, despite all the summer videos, he's actually shooting it worse and at a much lower rate than the last couple years. It appears as if he hasn't even made a shot between 10-16 ft and only .028% of his shots are within that distance. He's also getting the foul line less often and making less of those shots. He should be close to 70% from the line at this point.
This has to change asap. Does Brown get the blame for not forcing him to shoot by calling the right plays? Does Ben get the blame for continually passing up shooting opportunities? Gotta be a combination of the two. But come on! Shoot the fucking ball already! There's no excuse at this point. We're 10+ games into his third season. Gotta be better. And the longer he goes without shooting, the more difficult it's going to be on him mentally.

The offensive foul on Jo was absolute horse shit. Still, no excuse for blowing that lead.
But you did find a point guard who can make (for that mater take) a 3.
Embiid can't be turning the ball over 8 times!!!!!!!

An incorrect call by the officials denied the Philadelphia 76ers a potential game-winning shot in Friday's contest against the Denver Nuggets, according to the NBA's last-two-minute report.
