More Troops to be Deployed- Will Ed Protest?

  • That Nader's involvement actually helped Gore make better decisions, which would make him more appealing to liberals.

This is partly why Bush won- Nader earned a lot of liberal votes that would otherwise went to Al Gore.
    I respectfully disagree.

Either way, my vote is for Ed NOT protesting the deployment of troops based on the fact that during his campaign Obama said this is what he would do and Ed supported him then.

To be clear - I do NOT support Obama's godawful decision to send even more American boys and girls into the hellish and harmful middle-east. I'm embarrassed at times like these that I am even an American citizen. What a mess this is for us, for the world, and what a mess my country is in to support this guy because he uses the word "change" and has no idea what the fuck that even means.
  • A huge change. Yep folks, this is what voting for a politician gets you. How is Obama any different than Bush? Both are militaristic idiots who feel sending kids to die in a foreign land is a justified action. Both sleep well at night. And both have daughters they would NEVER allow enlist.

Its a shame. 30,000 more kids will die, getting their heads blown off. This fact doesnt trouble Obama.

Every president since Truman should be tried according to the Nuremburg laws. Tried, Shot and Hung.

I have no sympathy for anyone who is for this war.

I have no sympathy for YOUR president. I didnt vote for him. He aint mine.

im sorry guys, but at no point will we ever be able to say "yep, that's the last one, we killed them all, no more terrorists...we rule!!"

every one we kill has sons or relatives that will wage jihad on us to avenge the loss of their loved one.

winning a war on terror is about as possible as winning a war on stupidity. neither can be won.

Can't say it any simpler than that. Amen.

Agreed. I like what Michael Moore said on Larry King Live. Bring back the draft, but only draft the children of those in the top 5% income bracket. Because if the wealthy have to send their kids over to war, there wouldn't be many wars.

Whats scary is the mentality that we can win the war on terror, is shared by just about every republican and democrat in office, including obama.

It was understandable that he was against the Iraq War- most people were and for good reason.

That is not how I recall it. My recollection is that the majority of Americans supported the war(based on the lies told by the Bush administration) and that I was in the minority at that time. Those who did not support the war were portrayed as unpatriotic.

I don't know if Ed will protest. He's been vocal about bringing troops home and I guess the idea of sending more people over there now is to get it sorted out and bring everyone home once and for all instead of having it drag on and on.

does it really matter if ed protests? it would be nice, to get the message out to as many people as possible, but shouldn't you be thinking for yourself?
  • I dont support any war, based on the simple fact that I dont think people have the right to send kids to die, other parents kids, to die.

The fact that most presidents like Obama and senators can vote to allow this, and can evidently sleep at night, is disturbing in many ways.

Anyone who is sending kids to die in Iraq or Afghanistan, Obama included, will spend their afterlife in hell, with Hitler and Mussolini and all the other evil people.

    That's a tad extreme
