    That's not true at all.

He does not legally have to say a word to the cops in FL about what happened at this point. He doesn't, nor would you or I.

I probably would because I wouldn't know the law, but I'm pretty sure if I did, I wouldn't say a damn thing to them if I didn't have to.

I remember watching this presentation that was put on by a retired police officer and a lawyer, and they both talked for about 20 minutes, and their main point was, no matter what happened, whether you are at fault or not, the worst thing you can do is talk to the police before you consult a lawyer.
The officer was saying the minute they start talking to you, regardless of what happened, they are building a case against you, and you should just stay quiet until you talk to someone who is familiar with all the laws.
I know it sounds goofy and paranoid, but they went through a bunch of case files where people who had nothing but good intentions and wanted to play ball with the police ended up getting in a lot of trouble (and some of them were innocent!)

    Yep.

They would have thrown his ass in the back of a squad car and made him talk if his wife was all beat up and bloody.
  • So the police are investigating to see if a crime was committed???

    Spousal abuse...
Criminal damage to property (sounds to me as if she may have put the golf club thru the back windshield as Tiger was trying to just leave the situation)
    Lying to the Police...
    Obstruction of justice.......

    Hell...

I hope they throw her in jail for a year.....
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I just hope Tigers pre-nup has something stated, that the Blonde doesnt get a damn thing from him, if the marriage fails because she committs spousal abuse......

I know that would have been right up there on my things to include in a pre-nup if I was marrying a Swedish supermodel...

Then again, had he ever seen anything about Naomi Cambell, he should have known better...

I can guarantee you one thing this whole situation is going to get worse before it gets better. Things like other affairs start coming out of the woods, just aslong as this stays in the news. This is why it's huge mistake to not speak to the police or just quiet down this story.

I can't see him hunkered up in his mansion till the end of January until his next tournment thinking this story will go away.

Tiger gets a $164 fine for careless driving and the investigation is over. Ouch, not sure if he can handle that one.

Yeah, but the only other variable here is that if something more sensational happens, this will be forgotten in a minute. This is just the most recent thing to get blown out of proportion in the media coverage just because nothing else interesting is going on for the 24-hour news networks to cover.
Remember when Anna Nichole Smith died and it was on the forefront for like two weeks? It wasn't because it was newsworthy, it was because nothing else was going on at the time.

What more do you want from him?
People are acting like Tiger Woods somehow owes the public an explanation for his behavior. Maybe he was cheating on his wife, maybe they did get into a physical altercation. If that is the situation, it's between he and his wife, and he owes no one an explanation.
What more do you want the police to investigate?

True and this idea that if things were reversed, Tiger would be investigated for domestic violence etc. is absurd...completely different..

Then it would be a different story..

I dont want anything more, I was being sarcastic that such a small situation is getting blown way out of proportion. Personally, Tiger is one of my favorite athletes and I don't think he owes anyone and explanation. I just cant wait to watch the guy play some golf and tear up Augusta come April. If he cheated that is between he and his wife and I have no interest in it.

Then it would be a different story..[/quote]

The way i see it is, if this happened 100% on his property......then move on. This spilled over to his neighbors property. If i was his neighbor, I'd wanna know.

I'm not asking for him to do jail time, just would like to see a justice system thats the same for everyone...I KNOW I'M DREAMING, but it would be nice

Oh- sorry man, didn't mean to jump on you, I didn't catch the sarcasm.
I feel the same way you do. This is just getting so ridiculous.
There are major media outlets covering this story, and all they are doing is regurgitating the same stuff over and over. Any one else have a problem with the fact that there a some respected news networks making some pretty big assumptions based only on information published by the National Enquirer and TMZ.com?

And I agree with you about if I was in his neighbor's shoes. But we don't know everything. For all we know, Tiger has spoken to his neighbor and cleared things up with him without the police being involved.

The neighbors lawyers talked to the meida today and told them exactly what they saw. They are the ones that called 911 and were worried about him.

How was the justice system different for him? They completed and investigation and charged him with careless driving. He didn't have to talk to the police just like anyone else wouldn't have to.

Agreed 100%, it is a sad day when credible outlets say things like "TMZ is reporting..."

I find it pretty amusing all these PR firms and the media came out criticizing Tiger's camp for not coming out and saying exactly what happened and talking to the police. That all these questions would hurt him and tarnish his image. I completely disagree. Look at both sides:

On one hand, he talks to police, comes out (possibly) admits affair and that they got in a fight and he tried to leave and crashed. Now the whole world knows what happened, sponsors and fans possibly think less of him, his family life looks like it is a mess, his image is hurt and the media always has a soundbite to fall back on. Even if he is apologetic and remorseful this is not a good situation.

On the other hand. He does not talk to the media or police, the police complete their investigation and charge him with careless driving and a $164 fine. The "mistress" denies it, so it is her word against the National Enquirer's. No one knows exactly what happened that night and the story blows over when the next big story comes along. People will forget about it a couple tournaments into next season, he won't lose $1 of sponsorship money and almost all fans don't think less of him. All anyone has is speculation.

Pretty easy choice in my book.

What i'm really getting at is he took an approach that imo will be worse for him in the long road. Now theres another chick with texts,voicemails....who knows if its true, but now all the crazy's are coming out

He shoulda had a lawyer present and made a statement.Said to the police Ihave no comment, whatever!!He gave the impression he was gonna have a word with them, instead thru the media. From a pr standpoint...he made a mistake no doubt about it. And to Tiger, Image is a whole lot.He isnt as squeeky clean as he made himself out to be

I gotta disagree, giving the media any soundbites will be bad in the long run. Maybe he should have told the police up front he wasn't going to talk to them. Maybe he did and we don't know. By not saying anything, all anyone has is speculation and if he and his wife stick together it will look just look like baseless rumors in the long run.

I wouldn't put much merit into a reality tv star who claims to have had an affair with someone after things already came out.

Enough of the rumors...The biggest loss in my opinion is not being able to see Tiger play this weekend.

Might have to go out this weekend and buy an new Nike driver to support the guy.

Before this, I would think the pope if he was married...would be more likely to have an affair.I know Tiger scored a hottie, but I never looked at him as a ladies man.If he didn't handle it the way he did...the word affair wouldn't have come up.NOW, u bet your ass TMZ or the other rags will leave no stone unturned till they come up with their own conclusion

I agree that TMZ and other celebrity sites are going to be all over this for days but I also highly doubt the PGA and Tiger's demo is spending their day reading whats on gossip sites. All the majority of his fans will know is that he got in an accident and there were a lot of questions surrounding it.
