My neighbor is having his usual open house Wednesday night. Snacks, beverages. I'll be walking there and stumbling home.

    Thursday at my sister's house.
Turkey (I have no clue how big....I'm sure it will feed an army)
    Potatoes
    Stuffing
    Baked squash
    Turnip
    Cranberry relish
    Green bean casserole
    Pumpkin pie
Peas in a Can pie (pecan pie....my nephews thought we were saying Peas in a Can so it stuck)
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

not very exciting. just going to my parents' house with my brother and my grandma. luckily my brother is inviting a friend of his this year, so at least it will be a bit more interesting. And we are frying a turkey for the first time, so we'll see how that goes! I've invited my friend and her sister to join us also, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

Starting the oven at 7am for a 13lb turkey.

    Mashed potatoes
    Stuffing
    Corn
Turnip, squash for my wife and dad.
    Gravy
    Cranberry Sauce

Dessert at my aunt's with rest of family (my cousin had a baby boy yesterday so I will see him for the first time on Thursday)

Oh, and can't forget some NFL football.

Can't beat last year's T-day. I was in Vegas and had a phenomenal buffet at the Rio. Good times.

    Pre-Thanksgiving

    1) My mom is picking me up from college on Tuesday afternoon (I'm so anxious to leave home that I'm taking my Chem exam and literally leaving from that :D )
    2) Going to the gym when I get home (which will be amazing because my college's gym sucks).
    3) Hanging out with some friends Tuesday night.
    4) Gym and hanging out again on Wednesday

    Thanksgiving
5)Meeting friends for breakfast nice and early before the next event:
    6) Going to my old high school's Thanksgiving day football game (very very big event for my old school and the the school they play every year)
    7) Going to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving with my mom, dad, sister, and my mom's side of the family
    8) Watching some football/any sort o
    9) Going to my other Aunt's house for Thanksgiving with my mom, dad, sister and my dad's side of the family
    10) Coming home and probably eating some more (lol) and browsing the forums or watching a Christmas movie (see: my Christmas thread)
    11) PASSING OUT!!!!!

    Post Thanksgiving
    12) Black Friday: Going to WalMart or Target or the mall with my dad nice and early in the morning (hopefully) to watch people go absolutely balls to the wall crazy.
    13) Probably gym/hanging out with friends
    14) Saturday repeat.
    15) Sunday morning: go back to school and get really depressed but be slightly optimistic for Christmas break in 2 weeks!!!!

As you can tell, I'm pretty pumped.

heading to upstate with the fam to hit my mother in law's house...1st thanksgiving since my father in law passed...this was his favorite holiday so it will be a bear to drink through it...will be playing alice's restaurant every hour on the hour beginning at noon and not stopping until about 9-10pm. sounds silly, but it gets funnier each hour (and the cumulative cocktails don't hurt either!!!)
I love to turn you on
  • Taking the whole family out...

For an awesome steak dinner in Brooklyn :?

  • actully going for the big traditional feast this year...first time in a looooonnnngggg time. nowadays we usually do small/local, all adults, dinner out. this year, my local sis is going away, so instead, hubby and i are heading to my older sis's house in jersey, bringong mom and a cuz....see all my nephews, the whole shebang. not a fan of thanksgiving food, but it's been years since i ate turkey on thanksgiving, so it'll be novel. besides, lots of wine makes everything good...and i do love pumpkin pie.
