edited December 2009 in Given To Fly (live)
In the 48 performances I've been to (46 of those being the full band) I have seen Pearl Jam, or (a) member(s) of the band perform with a pretty long list of other artists.

Brendan O'Brien – Charlotte 1996
Sonic Youth (members of) – Burgettstown 2000
Ben Harper – Bridge 2001
Idlewild – Chicago 2003
Member of audience – St. Paul 2003
Buzzcocks – Camden 2003
Neil Young – Toledo 2004, Bridge 2006
Pegi Young - Toledo 2004
Peter Frampton – Toledo 2004
Sleater Kinney – Hamilton 2005
Bono – Toronto 2005
Rolling Stones – Pittsburgh 2005
My Morning Jacket – Grand Rapids 2006
Robert Pollard – Cincinnati 2006
Jack Johnson – Bonnaroo 2008
Liam Finn & Eliza Jane Barnes– D.C. 2008
Social Distortion – Philadelphia 2009
Bad Religion – Philadelphia 2009

I'm curious how many performances with guests others here have seen live.

I'm not just talking about openers here. I'd have quite a few more to add for that list. This is just about the artists who have been onstage performing with Pearl Jam. I remember DCFC and Gob Roberts opening those shows, but I don't think they did any songs with members of PJ.

I enjoyed when Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart joined them on stage in Vegas '03.
When they came out, Mike played the intro to "Barracuda", and I thought that's what they were going to play - that would have been SICK! Alas, it was not to be...just another RITFW group effort!

  • What are Bad Religion like live? I reckon PJ should do an Aus/NZ tour with Powderfinger, those bands would go well together I think.

PJ never played with Liam Finn in D.C. Ed did at his solo show later in July, but definitely not at the PJ concert. I was at both.

I was including individual members of the band in my list. LF & EJ did some songs with Ed at his first solo show in DC that I was at.

But the only artist I know any member of the band performed with on stage at Bonnaroo was Jack Johnson when Ed joined him for Constellations. I was asking about them being on stage with another artist for a song, not just being an opener.

I've seen 8 shows in europe and the only guests i've seen are...

Ronnie Wood - Sheperds Bush 09
Ed with Kings Of Leon (Slow Night So Long) - Werchter 07
The south american fan who came onstage in Dusseldorf, does he count? :)

For 48 shows that is a HUGE number of guest performers to see, you lucky bastards in america always get the guests!! The openers hardly ever are invited back onstage in europe, dont know why!

At the first Sydney show in 2003, Betchadupa (A.k.A. Liam Finn, in a previous life ) were the first support act that night, and Ed did his solo thing right before their set. Can that be considered the first time Ed and Liam performed on stage together? :D
