Okay, assuming that Puddle of Dumb (sorry, Mudd) isn't a joke......
I was hanging out at the Rainbow in Hollywood a few years back with my wife and could hear POM soundchecking at the ROXY (which is right next door)...my wife likes POM so I went to the box office and asked if I could buy tickets for the 'mystery' performer that night and was told it was a private concert for VIVID video (the porn company)...I told my wife they were playing for the pornstars and she lost about all the respect for them that she had...(go figure) and then, about ten minutes after soundcheck, the entire band with their management came into the Rainbow for some cocktails.I took my wife in to meet them...she was reluctant at first, but then I pointed out what a golden opportunity it was to meet the creators of such classics as "she fucking hates me" and all the other insignificant shit they have written (only I worded it so much more nicely) and I convinced her to let me bring her to their table...I introduced her to Wes and the boys and she professed her earnest admiration and shook all their hands...after a moment of awkward silence, Wes (the singer guy) asked me what I though of them and I said (and I quote) "You guys are great! You are like Nirvana, but without any of the passion." Their jaws dropped and I grabbed my wife's hand and walked away.......
One of the best days of my entire life........
And that's a true story gang.....
Hahaha! Wow. Well, I respect them for what they do, and they do have some talent and creativity.
Do you see the way that tree bends? Does it inspire?
some of us in the "Other Music" thread have been posting on a Black Crowes thread for the last week or two and it came up how awesome it would be if The Black Crowes opened up for Pearl Jam... different styles, but two extremely awesome live bands...
either that or i'd like a pearl jam/nickelback/creed triple bill...

I'm not sure I would ever want to see The Hip open for Pearl Jam ESPECIALLY in Canada.
I think that some sort of co-headlining show in Canada would be pretty incredible though where they split 20 song sets or something
To have the Hip open for any band in Canada would be blasphemy. They are Canada's band.

I thought Rush was Canada's band... Seriously... I dig Rush... Gotta love Neil Peart
Rush is great for sure. And much MUCH more popular than The Hip.. but that's a world wide thing.
The Hip (in my opinion) truly capture Canadiana in their music and shows. You can see it in the lyrics. And feel it in the music.
And their popularity in Canada is comparable to Pearl Jam's popularity in the states. Die hard Hip fans are almost as fanatical.
It's hard to describe really...

Thats a GREAT Idea... Crowes are great live except when people in the crowd bitch about them playing songs other than their radio hits... that would be a spectacular night of music
In Central America I could go for a little Matisyahu
I thought I read somewhere that guy was from New York? Did I get that wrong? :?
Edit: I also would love to see the Black Crowes and DBT open as suggested above. I'm surprised I'm the first to suggest QOTSA especially considering Matt was basically their first drummer.

This wouldn't be so bad if PJ were allowed to bring the axes they were throwing in the Backspacer promo video! Then if Chad Krapper or Scott Shatt accidentally got hit they would be doing a good deed for society!
