I could be wrong but

from the 1030 show that i attended and all the videos i have seen, Eddie looks not to be drinking and smoking as much?
I seen the video from 1031 and at the end of Lead better Eddie emerges from the back of the stage with a butt but then throws it away, just a curious observation

I spotted him light a cig in Manchester but then have a few drags and chuck it, also, he poured away an almost full bottle of wine. Never thought anything of it till your thread
  • He's still smoking just as much. He lit a cig during the solos in Even Flow both nights in Chicago.

perhaps the smoking bans indoors is the reason??
  • for some reason i dont think smoking bans are followed by rock bands lol

Perhaps the responsibility of being a parent is kicking in... :D
Smoking bans don't apply to rockstars...
  • Perhaps the responsibility of being a parent is kicking in..
    thats what i was thinking
but as long as your doing it away from the child, its all good :P

I smoked cigs away from my kids for 7 years, 1-2 packs a day, and have not smoked for 22 months (Chantix- AMAZING) But now after having smoked for 14 years, I can say- if you have kids and you smoke at all, it is very selfish and irresponsible. Period.
As for Ed, we need his voice to hold up for another 20 years, and his Children need their Father for a lifetime.
Stick to the reefer and wine...cigarettes do nothing but take away minutes...
  • Its funny. Not only did ed smoke on stage in melbourne 06. He yelled at a security guard for not letting someone in the crowd smoke during yellow ledbetter.

"ITS THE LAST SONG, HE'LL BE ALRIGHT!"
    ...The Moon is Rollin' Round....
  • he was smoking at the o2..i remember someone saying they will pay the fine for smoking inside cant remeber if it was eddie or not.

i think the smoking ban definitely curbs the amount of smoking the band will do though

thats funny considering there is more tar in one joint then like two packs of cig

its not selfish if you enjoy doing something and its not harming anyone else
    its called being responsible
  • I noticed him smoking on 10/30. It might have been only once but he did

I sat behind the stage on 10/30 and saw him go off behind Boom and light up a few times. Saw a guy get thrown out a few rows in front of us for smoking. A couple mins. later Ed fired one up and my wife said something like "oh I guess Ed can do it".
