Speaking of which...while deciding whether or not to get vaccinations for myself and my kids, I decided to look into WHO was profitting the most from this massive fear campaign....checked out Glaxxo's Board of Directors (the main manufacturer of the vaccine).....guess who is on their board?
Rupert Murdoch's son.

what kills me about this whole thing is ... if this vaccine is sooo critical - why have they not been made available to EVERYONE? ... seriously, by the time the vaccine is available to everyone - the pandemic will be way past peaked ... my co-worker has it and some other people i know have had it come and go ...0

Oh yeah, I know tons of people who have had it. My only issue with this whole thing is that I would have liked to get the shot just like I would have gotten a regular flu shot (which people have said isn't even really going around this year because swine flu has over taken it). I just don't want to get the flu! I have friends who are doctors and nurses and they see tons of people with H1N1, but going to the doctor or ER just to get tested for it causes so much more harm than good! They can't do anything about it, and unless you have an underlying condition, you'll be out of school or work for a week and that's that. Since I haven't gotten a flu shot for the first time in years, I'm just carrying around Purell and washing my hands constantly. I'm also trying to avoid kids. I know that sounds terrible, but they seem to be the little carriers...0 -

It was on the front page of the Boston Herald for 3 out of 5 days in a week. I am not too concerned about it. I think the swine flu is about as dangerous as a regular flu. Hey, people die from the regular flu as well. So it seems suspicious that they are trying to tell us to vaccinate or you will die. Like the guy said, someone is making $$ off of this. Notice they spend more time on the news talking about someone who dies from H1N1 than they do a soldier dying in battle. Priorities. Also, I read that the pork lobbyists were in Washington last spring telling ploiticians not to use the word "Swine Flu" as it might alter sales of pork in this country. That is why you hear it called H1N1 by all media outlets and politicians. They can be bought off to say anything, including get to your doctor, NOW and get vaccinated.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... This is interesting, i've heard stories of doctors reporting a case was swine when actually it wasn't. I don't think the numbers we are hearing are very acurate.0 -

Yup, my daughter is on a waiting list, meanwhile, all the prisoners in Gitmo have already had there vacs. Nothing like gov't priorities.0 -

Fast forward the video to 5:30. Listen as doctors "LOL" about stupid consumers when they discuss having the media invent demand for the vaccine by pretending it is scarce.
If it's not scarce, why can't any of my family get the shot at any price--even my high-risk group daughter?0 -

Twenty-nine people in my state have died of the swine flu so far since August. Some had risk factors, some didn't have any identifiable ones. Most people I have known, and I can say quite honestly I've known dozens and dozens of them, have gotten anywhere from what seems like a mild cold--not even very sick--to an average flu...pretty sick for a week to two weeks. A child living less than a mile from where I work, a 5th grader, died of the swine flu two weeks ago. I never met him. It seems to me, most people luck out and get the mild to moderate version, but that the occasional person is just overwhelmed. One child living about 15 miles from me died in less than 24 hours from her first symptoms. A university student, 18 w/o risk factors, died last week. Two others joined him--two older people, one with risk factors, one without. Despite my relatively close contact and repeated exposure to the flu, I have been lucky so far and haven't gotten it. Of course, I am also washing my hands and sanitizing everything with virus "killing" products all day long. At any rate, if you have an immune system that responds to the virus by overdoing lung protection, you could be among those people who never have to worry about taking out the garbage again, to look at the sunny side. As I've stated in another post, I'd still like to get the vaccine, but it is impossible to find it in my state. I know of only one person who is not a health care provider who has gotten it, a child.0 -

...
I know the N1H1 virus exists. I know that most people who get it will get typical flu symptoms... maybe harsher. 1 in thousands will be critically affected by the virus and one in tens of thousands will die from it.
That is my reasoning. If by my selfish act.. I choose to avoid the vaccination and contact the virus... thinking it is just the seasonal flu or something... and pass it on to someone... who passes it on to someone... who passes it on to someone's kid... who passes it on to someone who ends up in the hospital or the morgue. I would feel like a complete asshole.
So... I'm not going to be a carrier of the bug... or a conduit of its distribution.
...
I don't have much trust in governement... but, i ain't fucking paranoid, either.
dude ... to each their own for sure ...
by january tho - the "pandemic" would have passed ... any flu related to to H1N1 will have mutated for sure by then making the vaccine absolutely useless ...
Look... I'm not saying anyone should feel as I do. That anyone should get the shot, just because i am. I'm just telling you guys why I feel "I" should get the shot. and the reasoning I employed to get there.
As for the January date... that is the date given to my employer. i don't know enough about viruses... mutating... and all of that. All i know is that this particular virus is deadly to some people. I will do what is within my power to help them avoid getting it from me.
That's all.
Actually, this idea that the virus will have mutated to the point that the vaccine is "absolutely useless" is just not true. I've heard a lot of people offer this as a reason for not even wanting to consider the shot. Why aren't people in their 60s and beyond on the high-risk list? Because they met the granddaddy of the H1N1 before 1957 and they're still protected by that exposure. Who else is benefiting from prior exposure? All those people who got vaccinated against the swine flu in 1976--and those people who actually got the H1N1 flu in 1976 and recovered. This virus has mutated a hell of a lot more away from those two viruses, one 52 years ago and one 33 years ago, than it has mutated from a virus snagged about 6 months ago...and they still show remarkably enhanced immunity to the current H1N1 virus. So what if this virus has mutated a bit in the last six months? It's still the the H1N1. ANY exposure to the vaccine will do a heck of a protective trick for you, as either getting the flu and surviving it or getting the vaccine clearly show. And even if the virus were to have undergone a major mutation, the current H1N1 vaccine would still provide you with at least some immunity since whatever the new H1N1 virus would be would be built on this one. I don't understand people's thinking at times, I admit. Saying that the virus has changed a little bit, so you won't get the shot is like saying Eddie's changed his hair style, so you don't think he's the same guy and refuse to go to his shows as a result. He's still Eddie, even though he's changed a little bit. It's still the same H1N1 even though it might have gotten a "Jesus 'do," folks.0 -
I have a risk factor and I got my shot for free, 2 weeks ago, for free, because my county put hi risk people with no health insurance near the top of the list. Instead of these ridiculous cattle calls where hundreds to a thousand show up for a few hundred doses, and are sent home after waiting helplessly outdoors in line and told to go home after many hours of being exposed and missing work and school, my county set up phone appointments, and it went like clockwork.
Why arent there enough? Well the US is no longer a manufacturing country, by choice and for profit and tax breaks, so these vaccinations are all made offshore ecxept for 1 American company. So the bulk of shots go to the countries who make the stuff, and of course all "developed nations" pledged a percentage, I think 10%, to be sent to third world countries for humane reasons, so we dont have enough, plus the usual manufacturing snafu excuse.
Those of you with a job, sick leave, no risk factors, and health coverage can just go ahead a play your games waiting till Jan when they convienently send it your company, or skipping. Or you can get one from your health provider as soon as avail, a month likely, and save a life or the financial health of the less fortunate. Now they say you are sharing virus for 2 -3 days before symptoms, so you have no way to know and stay home, or still passing 7 days after your fever goes, are you prepared to use 2 weeks of your precious sick leave /vacation to protect us? If I got it not only would I have the risk factor to deal with, but I would be either harmed or wipped out by the medical costs. So take all your chances but dont take mine or some other.
The day I had the vax I also went to the grocery as I have just been staying home, some guy coughed right at me, I sweated bullets for the 4 days it take for the virus to pass or not. He knew he was coughing and could have stayed home but he didnt in his arrogance. Please do everything you can to avoid the flu and get the shot, you never know who the victims might be, you, someone close, strangers, but people none the less. The more that have the vax the fewer are left to catch and pass this flu. Choose responsibility Sandy0 -

I would be interested to know how much this will cost the government and business's at the end of the day.
the original protocol developed here in ontario was to have people off work for 10 days but because they knew businesses would ignore that - they changed it to 5 days ...0 -

Hey, if YOU are the one who is frightened enough to sweat bullets over someone coughing, STAY HOME. Don’t tell me what to put in my body. Do you spread this kind of hysteria every year during flu season?
I’m sick and tired of the guilt trips people are laying over this thing. Last week I heard a nurse say to someone “how would you feel if your child caught H1N1 and there were no more ventilators available?” !
I keep reading that in my province, a typical flu season kills between 40-90 people annually. So far this year, just over 30 have died. I believe ALL of them had complicating factors. Yet in these same articles, they use language like ‘death toll’, ‘crisis’, and ‘pandemic’. They say that flu shot clinics in my city are closing because there is no longer much demand, yet they continue to ration them and make it sound like you HAVE to go when your ‘risk group’ is called, or else you’ll be SOL and therefore risking a horrible death. I don’t believe the hype.
The worst part is; this media BS will cause nothing but distrust and apathy when there really IS a very dangerous virus circulating.0 -

Here's one possible scenario: The reports of more deaths in Canada, and that mysterious 'plague' in Ukraine are going to make people demand the vac. The government/drug companies will swoop down to save us by saying, "We don't have enough doses to go around. So we're going to thin out the supply by adding Squalene. Trust us. We love you, and would never do anything to harm you."
Squalene is an adjuvant- an ingredient that massively overstimulates the immune system. Natural squalene is a fatty acid found in all animals. The manmade version of it is so similar that, when injected, it is likely to cause the human immune system to attack itself. Just as vaccines try to get the body to produce antibodies against a particular virus, antibodies can be made against squalene. Squalene is highly suspected of causing Gulf War Illness in soldiers given experimental Anthrax vaccines. Squalene was so deadly that the post-9/11 Smallox vaccine campaign was stopped.
Here's an article that summarises much of what is questionable and dangerous about the vaccine:
EDIT- Oops! Sorry, an annoying dialogue box pops up asking the reader to register. The article is so long, that copying and pasting it would take up way too much space here. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/11/03/What-We-Have-Learned-About-the-Great-Swine-Flu-Pandemic.aspx Be sure to click on the blue 'References' under the article to see all of the sources. A few highlights of the article: Children under 3 have no antibody response from the shot. Only 35% of 3-9 year olds do. Taking the seasonal flu shot makes a person twice as likely to develop Swine Flu. (Cause and effect?) Flu deaths in small children multiplied when mass vaccination began, and have remained high. The CDC stopped testing patients for various strains of flu virus on August 30. Now any flu-like illness can be attributed to H1N1. "Far fewer people have died [from 2009 H1N1] than any seasonal flu in the past."
Go to http://www.fda.gov to read the package insert for the vaccine. It states, "May not protect all recipients." "Clinical studies are ongoing to determine the optimal dosage, number of doses, and schedule." "Specific levels of antibody titer post-vaccination have not been correlated with protection from influenza." The shots for people over 2 contain mercury, polyethylene glycol, gelatin (often bovine,) and cells from the host animal, a chicken embryo.
Like most vaccines, this one is Pregnancy Category C. It is not recommended for pregnant women. Flu shots have not even been tested on pregnant lab animals! "It is not known whether these vaccines can cause fetal harm or can affect reproductive capacity." Seasonal and Swine flu shots have NOT been, "Evaluated for carcinogenic or mutagenic potential, or for impairment of fertility."
"Immunologic response may be diminished" in anyone with a compromised immune system. (The old, the very young, people with asthma, allergies, diabetes, obesity, etc.) It is these already-ill people who are succumbing to this year's flu. Trying to prevent the thousands of viruses we may catch by having thousands of vaccinations is not healthy. We need to restore our immune systems naturally, with vitamins D3 and C. (Read up on how deficiencies in those 2 cause the deadly lung infections that kill people with influenza and pneumonia.) Probiotics, Omega-3s, sleep, fresh air, and exercise are consistently better disease-fighters than shots of heavy metal mixed with genetic material.
My favourite randomly-found internet quote of the week: "Were humans created to be this sick, or are we just programmed to believe this is normal?""May you live in interesting times."0 -
Sorry, I didn't read your whole post, but this part caught my eye:TravisTheSky wrote:Like most vaccines, this one is Pregnancy Category C. It is not recommended for pregnant women.
Huh?? :?
Preganant women are in Group 1 - first on the list of people for whom the H1N1 flu shot IS recommended. Are you talking about the nasal spray vaccine or something?
On a brighter note... I'm happy to report that I just got my H1N1 shot! (And I haven't even died yet or developed autism or anything.)0
