Really beautiful sounding set of records.  Very well recorded multi-track from Betty Cantor-Jackson.  You can really tell the difference from her work and multi-tracks in general.

This the Black Friday RSD release?
Yes. They have had a few from spring 77. All good but similar.

Willie! Would love to here what you think of this one, Loujoe.
Fantastic. Just like easy home cookin tunes. His sister is on piano. There's harmonica. Full band. Like listening to a train blowing through a lonely country town. A few hits but mostly new to me stuff.
I like the thought of them playing in Tokyo. Imagine the crowd taking it all in.

Glad I got it. Supporting my [habit] local record store.

Nice record to write Xmas cards to.
    Best to you Brian.

Back to my lonely country road x mas writing blues
    ❤️

Sounds like a winner, Loujoe!  I will look for it!
Seeing Willie Nelson and the Family Band live at the Dixon May Fair is one of my most fond live music experiences.  They played at an outdoor venue with bleachers for seating.  The crowd was great- very appreciative and enthusiastic, but not rowdy or obnoxious at all.  Not many cell phones or picture taking.  It was like being in their living room.  And whatever sound system they had rigged up, it was amazing!  You could hear and distinguish all the instruments perfectly and Willie's voice was superb.  Such a warm, heartfelt, lovely, friendly, superb show.
My best to you as well Loujoe.
    Enjoy those tunes!

Thanks! I have the Cornell and Buffalo boxes. This set looks similar to those. I’ll have to find a stream of this to determine if I want to drop the cash.

Thanks for the recommendation. One of my local shops always seems to get an over abundance of these GD box sets. I’ve just taken a break from accumulating vinyl. The prices have gotten goofy and I have too much (according to the wife…).
  • I looked at the RSD releases and it seems a bit light compared to previous years.

To be honest, I'm not sure that's a bad thing.  From various sources, I get the feeling that a lot of the RSD releases are things that people buy because they look tempting, but then listen to them once, and then the record sits on a shelf for the duration.  That's not a great use of vinyl, especially when some current release are held up for lengthy periods of time because of the back up due to the limited number of pressing plants.  And, as I've seen happen (at least in one store in Folsom), a lot of the lesser sought after RSD releases end up in cut out bins while others that are very popular and pressed in limited numbers get scooped up and flipped for ridiculously high prices.

I usually scoop up limited copies.   Didn't see much of that this time around.
  • Just went to the DMB site.  They reprinted all of the past Live Trax RSD releases.  Even #1.  Woahhh.  That's gotta piss off the people whom bought them at a high price.

It's the biggest shopping day of the year.  It's always been a big deal.  A ton of live albums this year.  The biggest one might have been the Bluey release...

Those early ones, especially LT 1 went for big dollars.  But they are much better sq than the later boxes like Hollywood Bowl, Pitt, etc.

I’m not winning that fight. Especially when I’m taking up 12’x4’ of one of our living room walls with records…

Just arrived!  Chris Mars, The Average Album (Chris is too modest!).  I didn't realize there were only 300 worldwide of this limited edition.  Must handle with extra care!  Include card signed by Charis Mars.

Wowzers. That see m s extra cool. Not familiar with that set. Not really familiar with any but really can dive into good live dead. I used to record tapes of live shows from the radio when I was knee high to a grasshopper.

I'm not the biggest Dead fan around (although I do have and love American Beauty and Working Man's Dead), but I sure do like the artwork on the Dead's album covers.  These ^^^ are very cool!
