I've thought out a list of the vinyl that I'll be in search of (for a while):

U2 (need these to finish out my U2 collection):
Under a Blood Red Sky (can probably find that one at my local record store)
    Achtung Baby
All That You Can't Leave Behind
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
No Line on the Horizon (should've bought it at Best Buy; will try to find it there again)

Pearl Jam (good luck to me on this one):
    No Code
    Yield
    Live on Two Legs
    Binaural
    Riot Act
    Benny Hall
    Lost Dogs
    Rearview Mirror
    Pearl Jam
    PJ20

    The Beatles:
Introducing the Beatles (first US release released on Vee-Jay records) (only US release I need to complete the US collection)
All the British albums that we know up to Sgt. Pepper

    John Lennon:
    Walls and Bridges

    Led Zeppelin:
    III
    Houses of the Holy
    In Through the Out Door

    Bob Dylan:
I'm really looking from "Bob Dylan" straight to "Nashville Skyline"; I have "Bringing It All Back Home"; I have my eye on the Mono Collection that came out last year or late 2010
    Blood on the Tracks
    Desire

    Foo Fighters:
    Foo Fighters to ESPG

    Exhaustive list

    It Still Moves
    Evil Urges
    Circuital

Still need At Dawn, The Tennessee Fire and Z. Not to mention the Okonokos box set that goes for like 70 bucks.

It Still Moves sounds amazing on vinyl.

I'd say they do have a long way to go.

  • Good finds! I've been building up my Motown collection too. Up to about 60 Motown records. I got a bunch of Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie and Supremes records for like a buck each last week. Most people overlook this section of vinyl at record stores, instead buying overpriced rock records. Nice job!

    Wow, awesome collection

My record store at home has a tiny Motown section, so I enjoy going record shopping here quite a lot :D And the prices make it even more awesome.

I had the Aenima Lp but sold it cause I needed the money. I did however rip it to my computer as a raw PCM file. When I crank it on the stereo it sounds just like the real thing. I do, however, wish I still had the hard copy. I have found that vinyl just sounds different than cd, not better. I rip alot of my vinyl to disk and it keeps that warm analog feel to it even though it is a digital file. Trippy huh. :D

    Fillmore East

    Correct.
Live at the Fillmore East is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on February 23, 1999. The album documents Hendrix's performances with the Band of Gypsys at the Fillmore East on December 31, 1969 and January 1, 1970. It is drawn from the same performances as, and can be seen as an extended alternative to, the Band of Gypsys album.
A "must have" companion to the Band of Gypsys. No repeated performances though there are alternate takes of a few songs from the original Band of Gypsys album (He played 2 shows each night).
There are some AMAZING gems on this that were left out of the original. An amzing album on its own -or- as a companion.

Dude so happy you're enjoying that. I have LOST DOGS with me on the Metro right now. Can't wait to spin it tonight.

Other than Lost Dogs LP today the Thrice Ar Guitar Center 45 showed up. Pretty psyched about that too !

I really love the organic quality that it gives to the music. I always loved the album anyway, but the guitars especially sound so much more, for lack of a better word, real on the vinyl.
