Canadian here...so far I've found San Diego, Chicago and the Florida Keys great. I think the keys are a must.
ya, the Keys are pretty cool....I've never seen a party like New Years in Key West.....I think San Fran is the nicest city I've been to in the states. Beauty-wise, I loved Salt Lake City too, but it's not exactly a night-life hotspot if you're planning a vacation....Seattle is really nice... but Vancouver is close, has similar geography, and is nicer/cleaner (it's not in the US tho, obviously)

My favorite cities that I have been to...
Chicago because of the beautiful architecture and the river running through the city
Seattle... I went there for the first time to make a PJ pilgrimage... and I was completely unprepared for how beautiful the city was.. the mountains and rolling hills and the bay right there... perfection.
Colorado and Pennsylvania are lovely states...
    and so is Wisconsin. :)

I've never been to San Fran...

    St. Augustine, FL

    Colorado Springs (Manitou Springs), CO

Memphis, TN (maybe not all that pretty, but lots of history and music).

Savannah is really pretty! So is Charleston, South Carolina. There's a lot of charm in those smaller southern cities.

I agree with you about Colorado Springs, too.
You can't be neutral on a moving train.
  • I have to agree with Seattle in the summer. It's by far the coolest city I've been to and the surrounding landscape is breathtaking. After visiting in August, I really want to live there someday. Though I suppose I should check it out in January before making that decision... :P

We actually get some really pretty days in January. Early March might be a better time if you're lookin' to see SAD in full effect. That's when we have all had it with damp, dark and gray.
