San Francisco IS a beautiful place. If you want to see a city that is colorful in terms of the scenery and architecture, that's a good one.

I like Chicago and Denver. I live in Boston and some people say it's really nice.

Canadian here...so far I've found San Diego, Chicago and the Florida Keys great. I think the keys are a must.

If you want natural beauty unique to only the US, Grand Canyon.
If you want to see a place with more US. history, Boston.
If you want to see what a technological enterprise can do to a city, San Fransisco

Absolutely! If I had only one city I could visit, that would be it!
I lived in San Fran for a year and it is horrible. I come from Detroit, so me thinking San Fran is the pits says alot.

As far as cities go here would be my suggestions (east to west coast in no preferred order)

    Boston (history, walking town)
Chicago (just way too many things to do in Chicago! beautiful architecture! )
Denver (not a huge fan of Denver, but once you get out of the city it's great)
San Diego (nice weather, nice city)
San Fran (fun town, drive north and you are in wine country -beautiful scenery)

    Seattle, only in the summer.
Phoenix (only if you drive to Northern AZ. Northern AZ which includes Sedona, Flagstaff, and the grand canyon is absolutely beautiful!)

Only in the Summer??? I don't get why people don't love the rain. Its really wierd to me. The rain was part of what drew me to the PNW.

it's more than the rain. it's the just the vibe that seattle has. the rain adds to it. it's amazing how this great mellow city is tucked away in the far corner of america. i would love to live in seattle and hope to do so one day.

When I visited San Fran a few years back I thought that was a gorgeous city. Also heard good things about San Diego and Seattle. St. Louis seems like a nice city also.

I actually thought Kansas City was very pretty. I was there last Dec. San Fran is beautiful and unique, golden gate park is great. The west coast cities are the best that I've seen. Not like it has to be said, but its definitely not DALLAS, lol. I've always wanted to see Philidelphia for the historical aspect and the museums, but I wonder how rude the people actually are.

St. Louis is a fly-over city for a reason!

which is the ugliest city you've been to??? I wanna say Dallas/Fort Worth, but I think I referring to the traffic and layout of the roads, more than anything else. ABQQ has great weather, but horrible crime. Amarillo is small city, but God it is UGLY.

Oh I know! Las Vegas - so fucking ugly, and the looks on the people's faces is terrible, so depressing.

You make a very good point. 8-)
  • I've only been to NY, LA, Chicago & Philly.

Chicago is my fave of those... didn't like NY at ALL even though I've been twice. It was ok and plenty to do but it was a bit cold and absolutely filthy. One day I wore shorts and, at the end of the day, my legs were BLACK just from walking around

Philly I was only there for a day, seemed small, seemed to have lots of character, seemed a bit dirty and maybe a bit scary in places but somewhere I definitely have to go back to and see more of.

LA, we were staying in West hollywood so didn't see enough of the city but loved west hollywood :D

Chicago was very cool and very very pretty for a city... I think for me, it's second to Florence out of those I've been to. The architecture, the people, the LAKE... it was definitely one I'd love to go back to.

I wanna go to places like Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, St Louis, Denver, I wanna do a southern road trip and see all of these. Go to the places with character.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you
  • it's a BIG country, there is definitely more than one beautiful city in it.
agree with most already mentioned, and don't forget new orleans, at least the new orleans i remember....
    Stay with me...

    St. Augustine, FL

    Colorado Springs (Manitou Springs), CO

Memphis, TN (maybe not all that pretty, but lots of history and music).
