    Sanchez throwing out trout...swoon
  • If nothing else, this season should put to rest any of the previous stupid talk about Girardi and/or Cashman. They are 2 of the top manager/GM combos in the game. Always thought so and that the talk of getting rid of either silly.

Maybe I'm only saying this bc I have had to constantly hear my dad talk about how he hates Girardi, but I have heard this elsewhere. How the hell is this team over .500? No Starting pitching, questionable lineup and they flipped their bullpen strength for future value. If voters actually paid attention to what happens instead of just voting for most surprising division winner which says more about their preconceived notions, Girardi would be manager of the year. Casmans Exec of the year can wait 2 years for when this all begins to truly bear fruit (which is also probably when Girardi will get his manager of the year again).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I can kinda agree on Girardi but I don't share your unabashed admiration for Cashman. He has given out his share of horrible contracts, although I suppose you could blame those on the owners. That said, the whole NYY thing is a unique situation.

Well, much like Stick Michael, I blame some of those contracts on owners desires. Cashman did not want to resign arod when he opted out as one example.

If Sanchez continues this through the end of the season. I could see him winning ROY.

Can't stay up for the west coast games anymore, but Sanchez is good.

McCovey won ROY while playing only 52 games. Of course, he's Willie fucking McCovey!

Hope Montero plays in the majors again. I've seen mediocre catchers who can barely hit.

He's not going to catch in the majors again. I don't think he has caught in over 2 years. He's gonna have to hit is way up there. I'd like to see it too and I assume he'll get some at bats at some point, but I'm not holding my breath for him being any type of long term big leaguer. He is still young though so you never know.
