Umm no, because neither of them did.

Gehrig could have if he stuck around a little longer, but he was pretty far gone when he retired.  Dimaggio was a shell of himself when he retired too.  Even if he didn't miss those 3 years he would still have been short of 500.

If DiMaggio started at 19 like Mantle and didn't miss those 3 years. It's possible.

Yeah just give him an extra 6 seasons. Why not. In fact let's say he played until he was 43 and got to 600.
     ;)
    This weekend we rock Portland

Yea. That's the point of this. People confuse saying he could have done it with he did it. Mantle had a 162 game average of 36 hr. Joe 34 hr average.

But he didn't.  The whole point is that list has Gleyber last on it.  He isn't making it near 500 hr.

I know he didn't. Have you never played what if? I said Lou and Joe could have hit 500 hr not that they did.

    I'll guess it wasn't Billy's or Stan's.

Luckily Cole has been lights out so far this year. Otherwise our record could be worse than it is. Nestor has been good too.

Holy shit everything about this game is horrendous. Sonny gray, Joey gallo and Jeff Nelson announcing…and the yanks lineup. No thanks

I'm so out of it I didn't even know our coaches. I know Blake and Harkey. But I see we have 3 hitting coaches now?

We have a hitting and pitching coach that never played professional baseball.

Yankees lineup looked like garbage tonight. Went to that cold ass game and got to watch Gray dominate and then almost see the Yankees backdoor a win in the 9th before the Twins reliever pulled his head out of his ass. Place was empty.
    It's a hopeless situation...

And analytics department that might have never picked up a bat or ball either.

I believe you can be successful at both.  It seems that average players make better coaches and HOFers do not.
