I repeat, Hal is a disgrace. The top offer is 7/175 haha

you want disgrace? my giants apparently have the second highest payroll in baseball and they suck mightily (and nightily)

cueto, smardzija, longoria, melancon....every one a waste.
You won 3 World Series in the first half of the decade. Stop whining!

and none of those fuckers had anything to do with it.

cliffy has a front office who he says won’t spend. Giants have a front office that spends stupidly. Giants WS teams had only one “dumb” contract....Zito, and he won an NLCS elimination game and then beat Verlander.
I'm a fan of a team who makes a 2 year run, then goes dormant for 10-15 years while they build up again because they can't afford it.

Whining about not spending $175 Million on a player is so far out of my realm, I cannot comprehend it.

hahha.  Well in all fairness, it is the richest team in baseball, one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world, who just watched their rival win the world series after beating them.

    Here is another take.

The Yankees, as constructed, win the division in 2019.  Boston is not repeating what they did, especially if they don't get bullpen help.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't sign Harper or Machado.

I think the Yankees know he’s poison, either in the club house, ego or style of play. Would you want to sit before the cameras and defend bush league play? I’m not saying that’s why, maybe a possibility? My other theory is the front office knows something about somebody in Cuba and they’re just biding their time to snatch some phenom pitcher up, which at this point is really what the Yankees need. More so than another big batting infielder who might become a distraction. I dunno.

So, this is a pretty good team huh?  Not getting Manny.  Already up to almost $230M, though Gray will be gone soon.

    Severino
    Paxton
    Tanaka
    Happ
    CC

    Chapman
    Betances
    Britton
    Ottavino
    Green
    Holder
    2 more relievers (Kanhle?)

Sanchez (Better learn how to catch with these Paxton and Ottavino pitches)
    Bird/Voit
    Gleyber
LeMeh....(never gonna learn how to spell his name)
    Miggy
    Didi
    Gardner
    Hicks
    Judge
    Stanton
Tulo (forgot him, but he'll be dead by May)

Is CarGo next for the Yankees/Coors Field East?

    JK, I like the signing
    Coors Field East continues

I like this signing more than DJ LeHoweveryouspellit (he will likely be pretty good, but I wanted Manny, clearly)

  • Arenado for a trade package including Andujar?
    Arenado before Manny every day.

If it's a sign and trade. Otherwise he will only be here for 1 year. Then he will be a free agent when he's 29. Yankees are not known to give extensions. And if Colorado offers him let's say a 7 year deal. He'll be nearly the same age as Machado if he got a 10 year deal. And we lose Andujar

I disagree, he is older and a coors field hitter. Manny has been in the al east for 6 years. I’d pay manny 10 days out of 10 over Arenado.

The only reason I could see them doing this is because they can get to know the guy and give him an interview before paying him. But I don’t see them trading and giving any extension. I prefer manny.

Mussina most likely goes in as an Oriole. i don't think they allow players to choose anymore

Mo was an obvious choice. But more glad for Mussina. If he didn't get in this year. He probably would get snubbed every year. A pitcher with more than 100 wins over .500 should get in.

And he pitched against the 90s Yankees and against the early 2000s Red Sox

i am more excited about moose too as a surprise. Mo is awesome but not entirely unexpected, I thought there was a good chance he’d get 100%
