Those jerseys for Players Weekend are silly. I don't care what the rest of the league does, the Yankees do not put names on the back of their jerseys. I do credit Gardner, Holliday and Bird. The only smart ones that can now claim they are the only ones in the history of the Yankees to get their (real) names on the back of a Yankees jersey.
That being said, I imagine if Jeter were still playing, he would have left his with no name as it should be. There's some things you just don't mess with.
