From RAB... YES, I love this

A man once told me that CC Sabathia was not an ace. That same man once told me you can’t hit homers off good pitching in the playoffs. Game One, in the books.

I love listening to that guy do games. Give me him and O'Neil in the box and it's all good.

Great game by CC. Kept them in it until they could break it open. Andy will do the same tomorrow. LETS PLAY NOW!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I was talking to Fixer the other day about Kay. He couldn't decide whether he liked him or not. I think he has gotten a lot better and I love the fact he will criticize the Yanks when necessary and he will shut up now, when necessary and let the game speak for its self. I love Paulie, but I think he does a perfect number of games a year. Cone is awesome. I love that guy.

If you have Twitter you should follow Kay. He says some funny shit. And yes I love the fact that he's not afraid to criticize the team. He's obviously a homer but still not afraid to speak his mind. Cone is nice and I like Leiter as well. Flaherty is a little serious at times but he knows his shit. Singleton is rock solid behind the mic. Very good at what he does. I wish regional networks could do playoff games but it's not going to happen.

    PLAY GAME 2 TONIGHT!!!!!!

    LETS GO!!!!!!!

Technically, they are playing game 2 tonight ;)

Agreed across the board. I check on on Kay's twitter here and there. I think the Yanks have overall, one of the best broadcasting teams they have had in a long time. Flaherty is my least favorite and he isn't that bad at all, just bland.

The booth of Kay, Pinella and O'Neill is one of the most hilarious things in all of baseball

Love Singleton. "LOOK OUT!" This has to be a tough series for him.

Oh yeah. I forgot about Pinella. He has his funny moments but I think he's going a little senial. He seems to have his Rizzuto moments but he's not annoying. The one guy I don't like...and I can't put my finger on why becasue he's well spoken and says the right things is Jack Curry. I just tune him out when he speaks for some reason.

DUDE, Jack Curry is fucking awesome. He is one of the best thing about the YES network to me. Breaks everything, and one of the best baseball writers there are. I love that dude, and from what I understand, Xavier can chime in more on this, but is just a great dude. The Times pumps out some great baseball writers. I read the Times daily though, and read Curry for years, so I am a little biased.

Like I said. I don't get it either but I just don't like him. He does nothing wrong but he just doesn't interest me.

Might as well continue the broadcasting talk. The one guy I miss the most is Bobby Murcer. He was all about having fun and always did a wonderful job calling the games. He is missed by everyone.

I Love Cone, he'll tell those borderline stories nobody else will and then laugh his ass off. i dont think he'd be welcome anywhere but New York
  • Nice win last night but gotta call retardi out on a few things

Why wouldn't you run Gardner for ibanez in the 9th yet he replaces him on 3rd with nuney

Why send cc out to pitch the 9th 120 pitches 2 starts after throwing 118 in a 8-2 win

Did you see how he pitched the eighth inning? Also, after 100 pitches, Sabathia held hitters to a .197 batting average. That's two reasons enough for me to let him try for the complete game.

Dudes a horse no doubt but up 5 after a long half inning ill take my chances with the pen. Give him a break you know at some point we may need him on short rest and the past few postseasons he hasn't been the sharpest which you can point to overuse.

Here's the extent of their conversation about the ninth:

    Girardi: You good?
    Sabathia: I’m good, let’s go.

If I'm a manager, and my ace pitcher says that to me, I go with him. Besides in the unpredictable world of relief pitching, 7-2 can quickly become 7-4 and a save situation. When a starting pitcher, especially one of that caliber does what he does in the eighth, he's earned the right to start the ninth.

In other news, enjoy some good John Sterling announcing

    that 8 & 2/3 call kills me.
so close to a complete game, first one of his career.
i know this is selfish thinking ,
but this has to piss off CC a lil' bit.
I sure was rooting for him.

    Hope Andys feeling psyched up.

They touched on this in the broadcast and gave a pretty good reason. Two things though. A. I don't remember the reason today and B. I was a little hammered so it may have just sounded good at the time. :fp:
