I'm going to do one from each show I've actually seen in person.

    1. Do the Evolution (RFK 6/14/98) First time seeing them live and this was the song I wanted to hear.
    2. Daughter/It's OK (VA Beach 8/03/00) Boot doesn't even come close to matching the feeling or the emotion that was there when this song was played.
    3. Corduroy (Merriweather Post 9/04/00) It was the version used in Touring band 2000
    4. Betterman/Why Can't I Touch It? (Nissan Pavilion 7/01/03) The Betterman part was okay but Why Can't Touch It? was amazing.
    5. Last Exit (Hershey 7/12/03) "Let's go fuck this fucking chocolate factory"
    6. Masters of War (Verizon Center 5/30/06) Always wanted to see this live and they nailed it.
    7. Black (Verizon Center 6/22/08) Absolutely amazing performance.
    8. Indifference (MSG 6/24/08) Crowd was so loud and the first time I'd seen a different closer than RITFW or Yellow Ledbetter perfect end to the night.
    9. Garden (MSG 6/25/08) Just had to be there.
    10. Bugs (Spectrum 10/31/09) After the technical difficulties Ed put on one Hell of a performance.

I think my special PJ moments would have to include:

Betterman from Mansfield 6/08 - Not my favorite song but the crowd completely took over and even the band was blown away by the energy.

Harvest Moon - Beacon Theater 7/08 - Just a beautiful arrangement covered exquisitly by PJ.

Love Boat Captain 6/06 St. Paul - I swear Ed looked right at me while he sang this, then later gave me some of his wine.

    Glorified G 9/05 Halifax NS - I danced the hokey pokey w/Stone.

Comatose - Irving Plaza 5/06- that show was the shit, 1st time songs from Avacodo were played live to a very appreciative & intimate crowd.

    Some that haven't been stated:

Breath - MSG 2 in 1998: if you ever wondered where the obsession with rarely played songs came from, this movement was probably the start of it all.

Alive - MSG 2 in 1998: Ed climbing the mic wire to close the show and the place erupting...just one of those moments you never forget.

Do the Evolution - MSG 1 in 2003: the first of now many times they shook the Garden.

Alive - MSG 2 in 2003: one of those moments that may have even put Springsteen doing "Born to Run" to shame.

Pretty much all of the final Spectrum show this year.

...and would agree with those posting Little Wing/Maggot Brain. Nothing quite like it.

  • Soldier Field 95 Everyday People ----> Let My Love Open the Door w/ Brendan O'Brien on keys. Awesome. Best Let My Love Open the Door I've heard.

LMLOTD runner up would be any Ed Solo version because the way he starts slow and then gets the song going on the 2nd verse. 8/22/08 when he played it just before the last part of the bridge a REALLY hot blonde girl runs on stage and when she is 2 feet from Ed security grabs her by the belt and lifts her off to the side of the stage. Ed stops singing to watch this but keeps stumming the guitar, and after the crowd goes nuts, he says something like "so I play all these songs about women and love and giving my love away and letting my love open the door, but, I guess they also mean stay 15 feet away at all times!"
    Good evening...

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Jeremy from the 92 MTV Award Show. It still sends shivers down the spine.

Cant beleive no one has put down Blood from Verona 06, this is PJ at their finest. It was a effortless performance but came out so powerful. Maybe it came across different on DVD than being actuall there but there is not much than can top this. AWESOME!

Just a few that come to mind...

    Leash- Boston 06

I'm the first one to suggest a Boston show on this board but that version was "meh!" for me..a little too tenative by the band IMO..

    and I was there too..

There are better version pre- 2006 and the Hartford "For Katie" 2008 version has a smoking solo from Mikey..
