I refuse to watch it! When I was 5, my dad used to work really late most nights and my mum was obsessed with watching V, so she would let me stay up late and watch it with her. I had nightmares-and daymares- for like a year. I thought my teachers were giant lizards who were going to put me in a pod and eat me. I thought giant lizards had already gotten my parents and were now disguised as them. It was awful! I tell my mother about this now, and she has no recollection even of watching the show! I'm like ma, how could you let a 5 year old watch V! Thus, on principle, I will not be watching the new series. hmmph.
I know what you mean. I watched it at a much too young age as well, but mainly because my brother was semi old enough to watch it and I was his shadow. Both my parents worked full time, so I'm sure mom was just happy to have both of us out of her hair at times. plus, when you think about it, we didn't have as many channels back then for kids. Now cable has atleast 4-10 kids channels with semi appropriate stuff all day long. back then we just had Saturday morning cartoons, Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, a few other ones, Dukes of Hazard, Wonder Woman, etc. not as much to choose from for us kids who were raised on tv most of the time.
I thought this week's was much better than the Pilot episode. I see potential in the story. There's only two more eps until it goes into hiatus for a few months so I'll definitely be watching those.

I watched the original V series and remember liking it, but I don't remember much about it. On Hulu last night I watched the pilot for the new series and the 1st episode. I liked it. I wish I had seen the original series that was on SyFy the first of November, but didn't know about it.
Like some others have said I remember the original taking a while to play out and I was surprised that everything happened so quickly in the new series. Maybe they thought we already knew what was going to happen so why drag it out.
