i went to 10/28, 10/30 and 10/31 and i definitely have to say 10/30 was the best. it might have helped that i won the fucking lottery and was front row stones side. i couldn't believe how good that show was and where i was rocking out to it from.

You too? Ohhhh your the one who got the tambourine from Ed, the tall guy with the long hair. And for the record 10/30/09 was the best show I've ever been to. Setlist, energy, front row. 10/31 was awesome in its own right, but it wasnt quite the night before.

  • A few people referenced some of my comments in another thread I think:

10/31 was a spectacular event which was incredible to behold. But 10/30 was a magical concert with the best setlist one could image, the best energy, the tightest performance, and the best flow.

Put it this way: if you had to sign up to hear one of those concerts over again tomorrow (having already attended both shows), you pick 10/30 all day long IMO.

I have to say I view all 4 nights came otgether for me as one after all was said and done.

If I'm ranking show by show it goes like this:30, 31,27 and 28.

The energy was crazy on the 30th. By the 31st we all rocked so hard it hurt! But it hurt so good! Legs and body has recovered but my voice is still shot!

I went to NYC after the shows with my good friend Joni and we rocked out hard there too!

This has been just about the best 11 days of my life! I am so happy that I went! Thanks 10 club for my awesome seats. I also scored a Mike, Jeff and Eddie pick. :D

I put 10/30 in my top 2 while 10/31 is in my top 10...and this is out of 44 shows. The crowd energy was unbelievable on 10/30 - I've never been to a show with the crowd like that. It was a bit less on Halloween though (maybe attributed to us older fucks worn down from night 1!) I also enjoyed the setlist more on night 1. For the first 30 minutes on Halloween, the show had a 2006 tour vibe (nothing wrong with that, but i've just seen it too often). I don't consider length of show part of the equation, because it's about quality, not quantity. Personally, I'd rather see a 2 hour show full of rarities (The Vic) than a 2.5 hour show filled with greatest hits. Time is even less of a factor here because they did play for 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Anyway, someone hit it on the head when they said 10/30 was a great concert compared to 10/31 a great event. When all is said and done, the best part about this argument is that this is one of the few bands in the world we can debate which amazing show was better.....and that's why this is best fucking band in the world.

gotta go with 10/30, it was just a great pearl jam concert that could be compared easily with other shows. It was the best of what we already know. 10/31 was way different, I felt like the crowd was in and out rather than completely focused as they were on friday night and that's really all the difference.
Still they are #1 and 2 in my all time out of 7 shows.
