    I'm going to say...
That guy that jumped off the subway platform to save the guy who fell on the tracks...
The guy that dove into the frozen Potomac River and swam to save that stewardess who lost her grip on the life preserver and began to drown...
The stewardess that went back in the burning wreckage of that 747 in the Canary Islands to save the lives of several passengers...
I don't know their names... but, truely... unselfish acts of heroism.

  • I only count people that I know (or knew) in real life:

This decade it's ADAM FLORIO !!! I'm still bowing down in a one-woman-wave of hero worship for "Superman," as I call him.

In the nineties, it was Dennis Lovely.

*smiles* Thank you. We are all one heart!

i will never understand why we talk this way about soldiers but shit on teachers. that's america's biggest problem right there. not that i don't respect what they do... but it makes as little sense as our unquestioned acceptance of violence on tv and in movies, while nudity gives us fits.

That means that John Kerry is your Hero.

Not sure what you're driving at here ... Not everyone shits on teachers, and not everyone respects soldiers. Not even sure how one thought leads to the other.

I will agree with the nudity point, though ... Some titties on TV are the end of the world, but its OK to make movies that graphically portray physical and psychological torture under the guise of entertainment value.
  • maybe a reason that alot of countries hate Usa is that u shit on teachers and respect the soldiers..
im not,,i know that people are served try the best..i do it 18 years now in my country..but teachers are ore inportant than me..couse they will teach u about ,freedom, democracy, respect, history, will open your mind..with a peacefull way,not the way my job do,,,

I don't have any "hereos". No one is perfect. Some display acts of bravery or courage which is greatly admired, but I would never say someone is my hero. As George Carlin once said - "Symbols are for simple minded people." And that's all hero's are, symbols.
    CONservative governMENt

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

I never said that any of the people I admire are/were perfect. And they are not mere symbols either.

titties???? what about a penis?? is that too much to ask for? i know guys have an 'issue' with their penis but come on... something for the girls would be nice, you know. perhaps if we saw all kinds of penisea on our screens guys wouldnt be made to feel so lacking and inadequate.

You win ... For the record, I have no real beef with cocks hanging out either, although I will say that they do nothing for me personally.

im only thinking of you guys. ;)

more exposure and girls wouldnt giggle when they saw one. theyd become as 'everyday' as titties have become. though i cant really see us girls walking past a guy and saying... nice cock (like some guys think its ok to comment on titties)... thats usually a more private exchange. 8-)
