nice, i'm working christmas eve, but it's irrelevant to me since I'm Jewish. When i worked at the sports wire service, I liked working Christmas Day because it meant I had the following day off which is a day when both the NBA and NHL usually played a big slate of games.Reading 2004

Bubble lights and all- our tree 2009
to celebrate a birthday!
Daughters village this year- "the place where nothing bad ever happens"
Hubby surprised me with a new decoration this year, Baby Jesus has leaves for a blanket how realistic is that!
Back deck is a peaceful place where you can find PJ playing Christmas style
with Rudolph keeping watch
Chasing yankee lights make for a wild porch in 2009! Frostie tips his hat and rings his bell- he's 17 years old this year!! They don't make 'em like that anymore
The Wisconsin cow hangs with Santa-there is no place like home- Wisconsin memories live in my heart especially at Christmastime
Merry Christmas to all and to all enjoy your holidays!0 -
WOW pandora - gorgeous!
(any why oh why didn't you post your tree in the 'oh christmas tree' thread?

beautiful job!
xavier - even if christmas was on a saturday, we'd still get a 3 day weekend. most businesses plan on 1-2 days off for the holiday regardless. also why i think next year, for 2 years in a row, we'll more than likely get the week off. we always get christmas, day after and new years day off - so 3 holidays. so even if on a weekend, they'd give us the days, or make em floating holidays. however, i think we'll simply have another firm shutdown. gave us the extra days this year, think they'll do the same next. whatever. i am definitely enjoying the extra time off this year! 5 more days of work than i don't come back until the 5th! 8-)
8 more days until christmas!

hubby and i are skipping gifts this year.
sooooooooo enjoyable!
for us, it's ALL about being with friends and family.
if i have 2 gifts to open, it'll be a lot.....but i couldn't care less.
i'm going to eat some good food, drink good wine and have GREAT company!
woooooohooooo for christmas!
8-)
This year- we will do the same and just give to the Munchkin as its her first.
The in-laws don't really get along so we are doing the round-robin traveling to the Grandparents, as because its her first. So not looking forward to the traffic
i'm so spoiled...
we always spend the holidays with my family, and sure...for years we dealt with traffic, going to my sister's in jersey to see her/her kids, for many years now we stay local, drive the 4 miles to my other sister's house, have an all adult holiday. i love it. not a lot of shopping, next to no holiday traveling, it's all just fun, fun, fun.....family and friends...good food and drink.......love it!
hope everyone thoroughly enjoys their holidays however they spend them!

Yea we got a "wrapping station" in my sons old room but it seems tedious to me.
I'm just gonna keep up on it this year though so I don't have to do it for hours in one day of course I probably say that every year0 -
I love spending time with my wife and kids watching all those Rankin-Bass clay-mation christmas specials that i loved as a kid. Rudolph, Santa Claus is coming to town, little drummer boy, etc. Found them all on DVD a few years ago. My kids love them as much as I did when I was thier age.
Merry Christmas, everyone!0 -

err....'wrapping station'...yea, again, i am spoiled...i've never had to wrap more than say 20? gifts, and even that, rare. usually 10. so i guess it's a lot easier for me to LOVE wrapping. but yes, i always have.
this year, 3 gift recipients....7 boxes wrapped:
and...
7 more days until christmas!

ahhhhhhh, a week from today, and we'll all be celebrating, enjoying!

I love christmas. Especially with a kid of my own and 2 nephews.
This year we are having breakfast at home with the family, then my brother, wife and kids go to her family. Then Mum, dad, myself and the the little guy are going to lunch at a beautiful hotel everlooking the ocean with a full buffet including seafood!!!! Yummo, prawns, crab, moreton bay bugs (an aussie thing)! It's supposed to be around 30C on xmas day, so seafood is the perfect companion!
I can't wait for the kids to open thier presents. Last year Santa left "snowy" boot marks on our verandah and on the grass! So I wonder what he will do this year???

That brings back memories of "Santa" in our home when the kids were little. The fooling is fun while they still believe.
We have no little ones now but even though my kids are grown and there's no grandkids yet just grand doggies
I still get excited to see them open their gifts.
I love the feeling Christmas morning- that really hasn't changed over all these years-they are still my babies.
Christmas is the very best time of the year!0 -
