Quadro-Philly-a.......my Philly experience

U R A Crazy Breed

It all starts on Tuesday the 27th...I got into Philly and first thing i did when i got to the hotel (met D in the lobby...thanks for the dvd's you gave me at the pre-party buddy!!)was blaze up and pour a drink...then i unpacked and got ready for night one of what i knew would be nothing less than an epic week!I wasn't in town 5 fucking minutes before people started thinking i was from New York!! "Oh Yankees fan in town huh?!"...no bitch! this is a Boston accent...we created Yankees Suck!!(this shit would continue throughout the week)....I made it to the pre-party late and didn't really meet anyone new yet......plus it was kinda dead at that time...but i did see my fellow Mass-holes in the house..Tony & Coleen , representing!(hope you guys made it home OK) .. I scored FLR tix off comcast for this show (SEC 107 ROW 1)..when the band opened with Corduroy then went right into Whipping, Hail Hail, Supersonic & Dissident...you knew they weren't here to fuck around!!...it's not till i heard Rival that it sunk in "these ain't gonna be your average set-lists!"...the band sounded tight as fuck and the new songs were played to perfection, that coupled with the fact that the sound in the Spectrum is amazing, and i knew i would never regret going broke to fund this week of festivities!!.The only complaint i have is the Spectrum staff were in Nazi mode and kicking out people smoking weed..i mean soon as i saw someone light up they were on their ass with the quickness escorting them out..i'm like WTF!! they are closing this bitch soon! lighten the fuck up! I never saw this type of shit at any other show i have been to..in Boston, when the lights go off, people blaze and security doesn't get all fucking Gestapo!..oh well...great set-list, great show...great way to start this shit off!!(even if the crowd did kinda suck...i mean Philly is the east coast, wtf?!?!)

Wednesday the 28th..Night 2...After a great nights sleep in my sleep # bed at the Radisson (thank you for the hook up 10c! much appreciated!) I'm off to the pre-party once again..met this dude Rich in front of the Hotel....we shot the shit for awhile and he hooked the wife and I up with a ride not only to the pre-party/show but back to the hotel as well, where we had some beers in the Hotel bar...when i introduced myself as Crazy Breed he was like "i'll talk to you anyway." LMAO..(Rich you are a class act sir! thank you once again for your kindness)...more people at the pre-party tonight and finally met Dave & Mike (Elwayvedder & Petrocs...i had a great time in Philly guys and you did a great job with the auctions & raffles) hooked up with my man Alvero (Duffman 99) from Canada and we got our buzz going nice before heading to the Spectrum...my 10c tix were in SEC 201 (thanks 10c!)..Mike's side...very nice view of the stage! Highlights of this show for me were All Night, I Am Mine, Nothing As It Seems, Gone (some hate it..i fucking love it...they nailed it and shit was lovely!), No Way, Blood!!!!! and seeing The Real Me live for the first time!..are you kidding me! great set list & better crowd than the first night for sure!...security chilled out a bit and the band was putting out a lot of energy...by this time i'm wondering if someone in the band saw my "Play more Binaural in Philly" thread....these guys aim to please and i was a very satisfied customer....as always!


Thursday the 29th (Off day) .i had planned to go sight seeing on the off day but the wife and i wound up staying in the Hotel and recharging our batteries for the next 2 shows.....and what a great decision that
turned out to be!...i did take a walk to Tony Luke Jr's for lunch...to get my first Philly cheese steak and the shit was good!...had it "wit wizz"....eh!........fuck the cheese wizz, American is the way to go!..took a walk that night..blazed in the park behind the Radisson..noticed how much Philly & Boston look alike...from the Brownstones right down to the homeless people sleeping on benches...i felt at home...almost.

Friday the 30th...How could i have known upon awakening this day...that it would be one of the best days of my life.....no bullshit!

That's right...off to the pre-party once again...with my customary pre-pre-party drink in hand...tonight McFaddens was fucking hopping!!! Just as i thought...way more 10c members!..Found my boy Boston Lou who introduced me to Speedy for the first time....hehehehehehehe...dude was fucking trizz-ashed boy!!!Heard he opened the place! (hahahaha Speedy it was great to meet you dude!!!!) then Lou also introduced me to my new friend and long time club member, Joserevolution...we shot the shit and hit it off and realized we were at the same hotel so we hung out and planned to share a taxi after the show (ha..yeah right...finding a taxi after the show was impossible!!!)...anyway...i had on a black Jordan suit this night with white trim w/ matching hat (Yankees colors) i had to laugh at some off the dirty looks by nearsighted Philly fans...nobody said shit though....I went outside to blaze and when.i came back into the bar i met a group of locals who i saw eying me..i just went up to them and said "I'm here from Boston to show you fucks how to hate the Yankees properly!!" which led into a 45 minute conversation about Boston & Philly sports...and this one guy couldn't get his mind around me being from Boston and being a fanatical Jordan fan....like i was cheating on the Celtics.. hahahahaha...they were real cool though...they bought me a long island ice tea and i said my goodbyes....I also met Zack (dude with the Spin blog) this night....if you ever see him at a show, show him some love..or check out his shit @ http://www.spinearth.tv/feature/Pearl-Jam we share a common interest besides Pearl Jam, and that's all i'll say.

that's just before i even get to the Spectrum!..tonight 10c tix SEC 214 !very nice for my shit #...better view than the night before...I am still trying to find the right words to describe this show,but i don't know if they exist!!....................................................................................................I mean........................................opening with Gonna See My Friend just took me totally by surprise!...talk about tip of the iceberg!!!!!!!!.....LOOK AT THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!...Set List: Gonna See My Friend, The Fixer, In My Tree, Given To Fly, Tremor Christ, Untitled/ MFC, Hold On, Unthought Known, In Hiding, Deep, Habit, Cropduster, Off He Goes, Force Of Nature, Present Tense, Got Some, Do The Evolution.....are you fucking kidding me?!?!?!?! my jaw was on the floor!!!!WTF is going on?!?! am i dreaming?!?! this was the night for the deeply obsessed.this was a show of the ages...this was the best fucking Pearl Jam show i ever saw!!...the sound!!!!! the energy the band gave off!!!!!!!!! the fucking crowd!!!!!!!! the set list...oh my lord....when they played HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SHIT MYSELF!!!!!!!!!! I THINK I WAS ONE OF 8 PEOPLE IN MY AREA WHO KNEW THE SONG/WORDS!!!!!!!......and the band sounded like they had been playing it every fucking day for years!!!!!!!!!!.....1st encore: Just Breathe w/string quartet, Parting Ways w/string quartet, Jeremy w/string quartet, Breath, Light Years, Rearviewmirror..that's right bitches...Parting Ways..... with fucking strings!!!!!...PURE BLISS!!!......Light Years....JOYohjoyohjoyohjoy!!!!....and the best RVM i have ever seen live!!!!!!........2nd encore: Whipping, Crazy Mary, Footsteps, Once, Alive, Sonic Reducer (Dead Boys), Baba O'Riley.......Whipping is one of my favorites!! Crazy Mary is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser...Footsteps...YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.and they topped it all off with Baba O' fucking Riley!!!!!.HOLY SHIT!!!!....after this show i was totally drained, yet absolutely euphoric...after all...i had just had a 3 hour orgasm!!!! I can't stop saying how perfect this show/night was....The band was in a zone and playing on a level far beyond any band on this planet...like the Michael Jordan of Rock n Roll!!!! I will never forget this night and i don't know if i will ever see PJ top this show.....i feel very thankful/blessed to have been fortunate enough to be there and share this night with the band and my fellow fans.......i mean if i had to sum it all up in one word......WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! holy fucking wow!!!!!!!.......back to the hotel for beers with Jose and we knew we had just witnessed a legendary show...and he has seen a lot more of them than me....(I'm gonna hold you to the promise of front row in MSG Jose!!!! )

Saturday the 31st...There was a lot of hype for this show and to tell the truth...i never cared who else was rumored to be there...it was/is always about Pearl Jam with me....and i'm going to catch a lot of shit for what i am going to tell you...but when the fuck has that ever stopped me before?.............i woke up with a hangover...pre-party was extra early...didn't sleep much.....4 hours maybe...met Danni from the UK..Jen from Wisconsin..you lucky bitches!! how awesome was it bumping into Mike?!?! Joni from AU..what the band did for you was soooo fucking cool ...these guys have such class!...hope you all make it home safe guys!!

got my 10c tix and they were in the 300's!!!..FUCK!!!!!! i had a feeling when they nabbed all those extra tix my ass was gonna bet bumped....but i didn't think it would be that high!...i was almost at the back wall...eye level with the fucking score board son!!! i saw a mountain goat and asked him if he had an extra oxygen tank!!...i had this stupid bitch behind me who would yell every time Ed would shake a body part...like he was fucking Elvis and shit!! and her fucking high ass shrill voice when she yelled had me contemplating throwing her to the stage like a paper airplane....(i had a banging headache)...i almost feel asleep when Bad Religion was out there....Pearl Jam came on and for the whole first set i barely could muster the strength to sing along to a song...or even clap...you could tell the band had expended a lot the night before...when they busted out You Are i was pretty stoked but this nights set list was "eh" to me after seeing the first 3 shows....aside from Pilate, Out Of My Mind which was awesome...i just wasn't feeling it....a lot of that had to do with feeling shitty & drained and being too far from the stage to feel a connection.....i knew i should of scored some back up tix just in case!! not that i'm complaining about the 10c...my # sucks and i should of expected it when they said they had extra tix for this show...i am still grateful for the seats...to all the shows i have bought from them....so.....gasp......

i left early!!..MISSED CROWN OF THORNS!!! can you fucking believe it?!?!?! after i had a thread asking them to play it!!!!!! but the way i felt and with the WS across the street i didn't want to sit around for hours for a cab or get sardine'd on the subway...so i jetted and got a cab in no time....i just needed to crash..no Of the girl...no Sleight of hand.....fuck.....oh well....gives me something to look forward to hearing when they come around next time right!..and Crown of Thorns has never been done in Boston so i guess it is only right i should see it here first ...yeah..that's what i keep telling myself so shut up! :twisted:

i don't know how the band did it!!! i was just a spectator...a very active one...but a spectator none the less...they kicked my ass and they kicked Philly's ass...anyone who says these shows didn't live up to the hype...wasn't really there!!!

yeah i had a "costume"...it was DMC from RUN DMC...but when i tried to wear the inferior Adidas sneakers on my feet they hurt so much i had to go with the Jordan's(i mean i was there for all 4 shows and your feet take a beating..you know this! gotta have on good shoes)....you can't be DMC with Jordan's!! that shit just wouldn't be right!

Nice write up! I like the complete low-down on attending a show like this, fun read, reminds me of my travels. I had a blast in Philly for EV back in June.... And reinforced for me just how awesome Night 3 was! I'm tellin ya ... if ya look at Philly as its own thang ... the legend is alive. The SECOND TO LAST NIGHT IS ALWAYS THE BEST!!!!

Even if it's just the North American Leg of Backspacer Tour -- still holds true, Second to Last Night baby!

i stayed to the very end, i'd guess i was in the final 15% of the people in the building. i didn't see many traffic issues, although the subway was packed.

Sorry, beating traffic is the lamest excuse for leaving early. If you've been enjoying the show, why would you want to leave it for anything other than for an emergency or if you have other responsibilities to be at? But I guess everyone has different views on things.

holy shit man, it was crazy! granted, we went to mcfaddens for a few hours afterwards, but cmon....a major venue-closing concert, a world series game and a big bar with lots of fares....people EVERYwhere looking for cabs and.....nada. walking around, searching em out. of course the subway is closed - i won't even get into THAT being in existence in a major city :P....and the FEW cabs who stopped, didn't want to go to centre city. :roll: wtf? i thought the economy was bad? then a cab stops, here's my request and asks 'what do you want to spend?' :? i said that since i took that exact same cab ride the evening before for $20....i'd expect $20. he then asks what am i willing to spend!? :wtf: now my friend - the only male of our small party, comes over. hahaha. needless to say, we didn't get that ride. FINALLY, i flag another cab down, sweetheart of a guy...takes us in, takes us to our hotel, charged LESS than what we paid the night before! ibizarre. i've never had a 'name your price' scenario with a cabby before....and i'm from NY.

That's right...off to the pre-party once again...with my customary pre-pre-party drink in hand...tonight McFaddens was fucking hopping!!! Just as i thought...way more 10c members!..Found my boy Boston Lou who introduced me to Speedy for the first time....hehehehehehehe...dude was fucking trizz-ashed boy!!!Heard he opened the place! (hahahaha Speedy it was great to meet you dude!!!!) then Lou also introduced me to my new friend and long time club member, Joserevolution...we shot the shit and hit it off and realized we were at the same hotel so we hung out and planned to share a taxi after the show (ha..yeah right...finding a taxi after the show was impossible!!!)...anyway...i had on a black Jordan suit this night with white trim w/ matching hat (Yankees colors) i had to laugh at some off the dirty looks by nearsighted Philly fans...nobody said shit though....I went outside to blaze and when.i came back into the bar i met a group of locals who i saw eying me..i just went up to them and said "I'm here from Boston to show you fucks how to hate the Yankees properly!!" which led into a 45 minute conversation about Boston & Philly sports...and this one guy couldn't get his mind around me being from Boston and being a fanatical Jordan fan....like i was cheating on the Celtics.. hahahahaha...they were real cool though...they bought me a long island ice tea and i said my goodbyes....I also met Zack (dude with the Spin blog) this night....if you ever see him at a show, show him some love..or check out his shit @ http://www.spinearth.tv/feature/Pearl-Jam we share a common interest besides Pearl Jam, and that's all i'll say.

I SHIT MYSELF!!!!!!!!!! I THINK I WAS ONE OF 8 PEOPLE IN MY AREA WHO KNEW THE SONG/WORDS!!!!!!!......and the band sounded like they had been playing it every fucking day for years!!!!!!!!!!.....1st encore: Just Breathe w/string quartet, Parting Ways w/string quartet, Jeremy w/string quartet, Breath, Light Years, Rearviewmirror..that's right bitches...Parting Ways..... with fucking strings!!!!!...PURE BLISS!!!......Light Years....JOYohjoyohjoyohjoy!!!!....and the best RVM i have ever seen live!!!!!!........2nd encore: Whipping, Crazy Mary, Footsteps, Once, Alive, Sonic Reducer (Dead Boys), Baba O'Riley.......Whipping is one of my favorites!! Crazy Mary is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser...Footsteps...YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.and they topped it all off with Baba O' fucking Riley!!!!!.HOLY SHIT!!!!....after this show i was totally drained, yet absolutely euphoric...after all...i had just had a 3 hour orgasm!!!! I can't stop saying how perfect this show/night was....The band was in a zone and playing on a level far beyond any band on this planet...like the Michael Jordan of Rock n Roll!!!! I will never forget this night and i don't know if i will ever see PJ top this show.....i feel very thankful/blessed to have been fortunate enough to be there and share this night with the band and my fellow fans.......i mean if i had to sum it all up in one word......WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! holy fucking wow!!!!!!!.......back to the hotel for beers with Jose and we knew we had just witnessed a legendary show...and he has seen a lot more of them than me....(I'm gonna hold you to the promise of front row in MSG Jose!!!! )

Saturday the 31st...There was a lot of hype for this show and to tell the truth...i never cared who else was rumored to be there...it was/is always about Pearl Jam with me....and i'm going to catch a lot of shit for what i am going to tell you...but when the fuck has that ever stopped me before?.............i woke up with a hangover...pre-party was extra early...didn't sleep much.....4 hours maybe...met Danni from the UK..Jen from Wisconsin..you lucky bitches!! how awesome was it bumping into Mike?!?! Joni from AU..what the band did for you was soooo fucking cool ...these guys have such class!...hope you all make it home safe guys!!

got my 10c tix and they were in the 300's!!!..FUCK!!!!!! i had a feeling when they nabbed all those extra tix my ass was gonna bet bumped....but i didn't think it would be that high!...i was almost at the back wall...eye level with the fucking score board son!!! i saw a mountain goat and asked him if he had an extra oxygen tank!!...i had this stupid bitch behind me who would yell every time Ed would shake a body part...like he was fucking Elvis and shit!! and her fucking high ass shrill voice when she yelled had me contemplating throwing her to the stage like a paper airplane....(i had a banging headache)...i almost feel asleep when Bad Religion was out there....Pearl Jam came on and for the whole first set i barely could muster the strength to sing along to a song...or even clap...you could tell the band had expended a lot the night before...when they busted out You Are i was pretty stoked but this nights set list was "eh" to me after seeing the first 3 shows....aside from Pilate, Out Of My Mind which was awesome...i just wasn't feeling it....a lot of that had to do with feeling shitty & drained and being too far from the stage to feel a connection.....i knew i should of scored some back up tix just in case!! not that i'm complaining about the 10c...my # sucks and i should of expected it when they said they had extra tix for this show...i am still grateful for the seats...to all the shows i have bought from them....so.....gasp......

i left early!!..MISSED CROWN OF THORNS!!! can you fucking believe it?!?!?! after i had a thread asking them to play it!!!!!! but the way i felt and with the WS across the street i didn't want to sit around for hours for a cab or get sardine'd on the subway...so i jetted and got a cab in no time....i just needed to crash..no Of the girl...no Sleight of hand.....fuck.....oh well....gives me something to look forward to hearing when they come around next time right!..and Crown of Thorns has never been done in Boston so i guess it is only right i should see it here first ...yeah..that's what i keep telling myself so shut up! :twisted:

I never saw this type of shit at any other show i have been to..in Boston, when the lights go off, people blaze and security doesn't get all fucking Gestapo!..oh well...great set-list, great show...great way to start this shit off!!(even if the crowd did kinda suck...i mean Philly is the east coast, wtf?!?!)

Wednesday the 28th..Night 2...After a great nights sleep in my sleep # bed at the Radisson (thank you for the hook up 10c! much appreciated!) I'm off to the pre-party once again..met this dude Rich in front of the Hotel....we shot the shit for awhile and he hooked the wife and I up with a ride not only to the pre-party/show but back to the hotel as well, where we had some beers in the Hotel bar...when i introduced myself as Crazy Breed he was like "i'll talk to you anyway." LMAO..(Rich you are a class act sir! thank you once again for your kindness)...more people at the pre-party tonight and finally met Dave & Mike (Elwayvedder & Petrocs...i had a great time in Philly guys and you did a great job with the auctions & raffles) hooked up with my man Alvero (Duffman 99) from Canada and we got our buzz going nice before heading to the Spectrum...my 10c tix were in SEC 201 (thanks 10c!)..Mike's side...very nice view of the stage! Highlights of this show for me were All Night, I Am Mine, Nothing As It Seems, Gone (some hate it..i fucking love it...they nailed it and shit was lovely!), No Way, Blood!!!!! and seeing The Real Me live for the first time!..are you kidding me! great set list & better crowd than the first night for sure!...security chilled out a bit and the band was putting out a lot of energy...by this time i'm wondering if someone in the band saw my "Play more Binaural in Philly" thread....these guys aim to please and i was a very satisfied customer....as always!


Thursday the 29th (Off day) .i had planned to go sight seeing on the off day but the wife and i wound up staying in the Hotel and recharging our batteries for the next 2 shows.....and what a great decision that
turned out to be!...i did take a walk to Tony Luke Jr's for lunch...to get my first Philly cheese steak and the shit was good!...had it "wit wizz"....eh!........fuck the cheese wizz, American is the way to go!..took a walk that night..blazed in the park behind the Radisson..noticed how much Philly & Boston look alike...from the Brownstones right down to the homeless people sleeping on benches...i felt at home...almost.

Friday the 30th...How could i have known upon awakening this day...that it would be one of the best days of my life.....no bullshit!
