Phillies Fans

What a great show last night just awesome, I just wish that everytime the music stopped and ed talked that the people around me didn't yell yankees suck so no one could hear anything. I shook hands with a guy who was a yankees fan so unfortunetly me and my gf next to me had to put up with me getting told "I hope you die in a car crash on the way home" to having stuff thrown at me all night, including beer and food and stuff. Thanks alot, it's a concert not a baseball game I just don't get it. She was petrified that I was going to get attacked on the way out. I never said one word the entire night to anyone. Is there really a need for that?

I had no yankees stuff on, do yankees fans need to cease to exist? It just makes no sense it's a concert
Philly fans suck.
You are at a Pearl Jam show - why does your interest in it and excitement for it have to be tied to how your favorite sports team is doing?
At the EV show - the two monkeys sitting in ROW 13 right behind me were more interested in the Stanley Cup game and totally ruined Ed playing "The End".
On Tuesday night, again in section 212 row 13 - 50 year old drunk phillies fan screaming YANKEES SUCK during Down & Wishlist.
I am not implying that you can't root for your team or cheer when the score is shown on stage, but at least have the decency to cheer and act in an appropriate manner. When the band starts playing - that is your signal that it is time to MOVE ON.
This should be a celebration of awesomeness - it is a NY/Philly weekend - how about you Philly fans be good hosts and show some class and celebrate the fact that there are 4 major events taking place here?
See you tonight

This might be the most rediculous post I have ever read or taken part of. Please stop you bitching about a city being excited that THEIR HOMETOWN team is playing on the Worlds Biggest Stage for a Championship. Did you happen to see Eddie smiling when 17,000 people started doing "Lets Go Phillies" chants? We are passionate people when it comes to sports. I am in no way condoning the assholes you encountered but you are in Philadelphia during the World Series. Get used to hearing updates through out the show tonight. Eddie and the boys are huge sports fans and If you don't like the way we support our teams then dont come back for a show. That is fine with me, it leaves more tickets for my brothers and sisters here in the 215. I know this is coming off harsh but when someone says something demeaning about my city I must defend her.
Go Phils!!!!!
Peace!
Did I say anything about people chearing for the phillies, no.....I would expect it and great root hard for your team. It makes no sense to me that you should try to fight people because they are a yankee fan, people need to show some class. What was said about your city, I actually had a great time in the city and I should not come back to a PEARL JAM show that I've seen 28 of because someone threw beer on me and my gf and threw stuff at all night and was told they hoped I died because I like a different sports team. Give me a break
I didn't complain once about their being phillies chants, good for you...The part I said was about these assholes and the fact that they were more concerned with that then the concert. The point I made about the Yankees suck chant is shouldn't everyone be more concerned with rooting and liking their own team then bashing the other one? That's all.......And who held 17,000 people responsible I think your a bit sensative about this
Thats based on a quote Pedro said and that was at Yankee stadium during a Yankee game. This was at a Pearl Jam concert when there wasnt even a game that day. Totally irrelevant, childish, and obnoxious. And I think the post isnt targeting the chants but more so their complete behavior which was out of line. The chants was just part of it, to make his point that it was more an attack on Yankee fans rather then rooting for your own team.
what did you expect. It's the Yankees your in Philadelphia.
Would you cry if you the people in Europe threw things at you while wearing a Bush T-Shirt?
I was at Tuesday's show and didn't hear on Phillies chant. The only thing I heard was some NY douche yelling "Let's Go Yankees" every time the band took a break.
This is just a dumb response, some one is supposed to expect stuff to get throw on them anywhere? I'm in philadelphia so what, I started this about the fact that some people are out of line and classless and some of the phillies fans are proving my point

What does that mean? Since when are the yankees and phillies a rivalry? and the Bush comment is completely irrelevant. Philly fans are the worst. Between the Eagles, Flyers and now the Phillies they are all obnoxious. You just dont see it because your one of them.
WE ARE GOING TO A PEARL JAM CONCERT. who gives a shit about the game right now. Why try and start fights. Anyone defending the philly fans is an idioit. you didnt see what happen and therefore have no sense of the situation. I already mentioned I was in that section and these guys werent even paying attention to the show, they were trying to fight every yankee in the area.
This isnt a mindless bitch like why didnt the ten club do this or that. there is a right way to root for your team with class and there is a wrong way to "root" for your team by bashing the other team like a bunch of scum bags which is very accustom to how philly fans typically act.
Even the guy next to me was a philly fan, I am a yankee fan we discussed baseball and he seemed like a cool guy. Even said and I quote "the yankee fans were cival, didnt say a word to me for wearing phillies stuff and were a total class act" Towards the end of the concert he tryed jumping in with the retards who were trying to fight EVERYONE after getting his beer muscles. Just goes to show you.
And Brenton, you are clearly a classless dick. I read this thread with some interest, because yeah, I found the Phillies fans obnoxious for the most part, but I also take it all into consideration. However, thinking that you are being a bad ass by using both homophobic and misogynistic slurs, you only make yourself appear look stupid.
Second, YOU WENT TO THE GAME INSTEAD OF THE CONCERT??? I question any real PJ fan ever doing that. A well-connected "friend" of mine offered me tickets to the game and I told him I wouldn't miss PJ for any amount of money, and I meant it. But then again, I see you only joined a few months ago.
How'd that game work our for ya??? Concert was awesome!!!!!!! You have no class my friend but I wouldn't expect anything else.
so you say that philly people aren't as bad as is being made out and you post this
way to prove their point

Now i'm glad I didn't go to Philly...sounds like a city of assholes. I hope the Phillies lose the WS.
No of course there's no need for that. I can't comprehend how some loons on the board can defend that behavior. I'm sorry that some idiots ruined the show for you and your girlfriend. Like you said, you'er at a conert...all rivalries should be put aside to enjoy the music and have a good time.
Some people don't handle grammar too well, apparently.
I sat next to a Yankees fan and his fiancee, and they were two of the coolest people I met. There was some good-natured ribbing, but nothing over the top. For the night, the "differences" were set aside, and we were just Pearl Jam fans. In general though, we are obnoxious. Not as bad as Red Sox fans, as I'm told, but who knows? I think it's good to be passionate about things, even if they are silly things like sports.
