You know what? I think stories like these are great. I am in the same hotel A LOT, and I sometimes speak and I sometimes don't. I try to gauge when it's appropriate and when it's not, and I hope I do a pretty good job of it. I met "somebody" over there yesterday, and he was as gracious as can be. BTW...Jesse is a big, serious dude, but I think he's a sweetheart. Good for you!

You did the right thing. I know it's hard to not just want to walk up and even do nothing more than say, "HI!!!", but I think we (as a group) will get more of those moments like the OP's if we do our best to respect their privacy when it is obviously not the right time to go up to them. IDK if they like it when we speak to them or not, but I hope they do.

After amazing show I'm staying in same hotel as the guys (the. Yankees are here too as a yanks fan to have my two favorite thngs under one roof is surreal) ed was very nice told me a story about his daughter not eating her vegetables. She said to him I got some if you eat it. It was funny. Then I said he needed to go up and get some rest he said thanks and pulled me in for a hug. No shit I was florred. Anyway tonite should be cool h said they are gonna play for a while and have some surprises alhough he wouldn't spoil it to me. Thanks ed for another in a long line of memories and to Pete and Jessie for allowing me to chat. Bearded security guy. You're a douche.

someone asked me this weekend how happy I would be to meet EV or the rest of the band. Te truth is.... I would looove to. However, Im not sure if I really want to because I dont know what I would say that they havent heard 1,000,000 times. Approaching in a lobby or something where what you say is limited it would be tough. My dream is to occupy a barstool next to any of the guys (especially EV) for a beer.
haha, wow, swedish bitterness. i think your encounter was very respectful. i would love to meet any of the boys, and it would depend on the circumstance whether or not i would say anything. in your situation, YES! i would have. they are on tour, it was at the hotel. if i met any of them all i could probably ever get out would be an astonished, meek "thank you" haha, i'd be so shocked.

Wow, this forum apparently is like any forum on the internet although we all share the passion for the same band... Great if someone meets Eddie Vedder and the singer thinks its ok. And great if someone, out of respect for the individual, won't approach him in the first place. Personally, I'd give a tumbs up or something like that and that would be it. Everyone has his own ideas about this.

I've been in many situations to meet Eddie & co.and have known the difference of when to engage and when not to. Eddie loves talking to fans and if he stops to talk it's 'cause he wants to. He's famous for hanging in parking lots before shows. If he's "working" it's part of his "job" to schmooze a lil bit. If he's eating at a restaurant, etc. leave it alone. He's also a big fan himself and I'm sure can relate as such.
Good for you that you got a chance to have a nice moment with someone you truly admire.
