are you serious ? they are 6-1 everyone thinks Drew Brees is the top dog in the NFL right now, but if you look at the stats, Favre is right up there with Brees in everyway !! even after yesterdays game.
some people, not you so much Heatherj43 , but just anyone that wants to talk about football should really look at some stats before they say something like this.
or that he is "not clutch" going into yesterday he had one less passing TD than Brees, after yesterday he is 2 TD passes behind Brees. But everyone and their brother thinks Brees is the shit. their passer rating is right about the same, Favre has a better comp. % I just dont understand or know what games people are watching when they say Favre sucks or he should have retired, cause they sure as hell are not watching the same games that i am.
it just makes me laugh.

It was great to see the rest of the world recognize hm as human again. They're still the class of the North, and possibly the NFC, seeing how NO almost dumped one to Miami.
I'll have to disagree with you there about being the class of the NFC. The Saints have had impressive wins over good teams so far this season. Your Vikings have done well to this point but if the Saints and Vikings end up meeting in the playoffs, the Vikes don't have a chance. The Saints have a powerful offense that is hard to stop and we have probably the best defense we've had in years. As the season goes on, Farve will get tired and will not be as effective at QB. The past few years have shown this. Either way, best of luck to you and maybe we'll meet in the playoffs!
Go Saints!
I am happy for you. Finally some wins to be proud of. Maybe the Aints will actually make a SuperBowl.
Jeff Reed's "tackle" attempt was the truely pathetic one.

Ah, I have season tix for the Lions. Of course I hate Favre. Have had tix since 1982 so hate to get rid of them and pay evey fricking year. It cost $325 a couple, per game, by the time you factor in parking, gas, drinks, along with the tix, etc. The Packers always amaze me. They purposely want their field to be an outside one. It gets cold in Green Bay. I think they are crazy, yet Favre kept them a great team. He's a great QB no doubt, but as a Lions fan, I wish he stayed retired!
One last thing, the game we played against Pittsburg here in Detroit was so humiliating. There were more Steeler fans than Lion fans! It was sad. We lost 28-20.
I am so mad at all those Detroit tix holders who sold their tix to Steeler fans. It felt like I was in Pitt.
Argh!!!

Casue football is ment to be played outside and not in a dome.
I know that's the man way to think but I played football. We had 2 years in a row where we played in the national semi-final game. Once was in Pennsylvania and the next year it was here at home. Both games were in December and both times the temps were well below freezing. We had one of the the top offenses in the country but both games we got our asses kicked. Why? Because football shouldn't be played in sub-freezing temps. I was never more miserable than I was in those 2 games.
Look out your window the next time the temperature gets to 10 below zero and see how many kids are outside playing football. My guess is none. That's what fire is for.

I agree with you on this. When I played , I remember playing a pretty important game here and it was 12 below. every hit felt like it was going to break you.
It was by far as you said one of the most miserable 3 hours of my life.
I shiver just thinking about it.

I've never backed down from anything in my life. I loved competing and the hitting and all that barbaric shit. But, when I put my pads on and walked to the field to stretch, my pecker shriveled to a microscopic length and all I could think about was going home and drinking hot chocolate and playing Sega. I don't remember much about those games because my brain won't allow me to retrieve negative images like that. It was horrible.

Funny how you only hear the 'he is not clutch' statements on weeks like this, but these people are nowhere to be seen when he makes plays like he did at the end against the Ravens or that pass to Lewis in the endzone as time expired a few weeks back. The man is 40 years old and has been doing this for YEARS. People only concentrate on the negative plays because they're haters. He makes just as many amazing plays. There are no and have never been ANY perfect quarterbacks. Sure, Favre has a ton of interceptions, because he takes a lot of chances. But along with that he has more wins, td's, yards, starts, attempts, completions, etc etc than ANY other QB in history. And he has a ring. Some people just want to hate.
Greatest QB of all time. And still going.

I think rings can overrate QB's. Bradshaw won 4 but I wouldn't consider him anywhere near the top of the best qb's. Marino won 0, but he is a top-5 qb of all time. I think you do need to win at least 1 to be a complete success in your career, but by no stretch is it the sole measure of how great a qb you are.

Somewhat true, but I do think that rings do show a lot about a QB, but not everything... It's just so subjective as to who's the best. Not only do people view the same QB's differently, but their criteria of what makes a QB great is different as well.

Trent Dilfer won a ring. Doug Williams did too. There's a ton of 1 ring Superbowl champs that sucked the dick. Marino can't be compared with Dilfer. It's an abomination. Elway really could have gone his entire career without a ring if it hadn't been for Terrell Davis and the Broncos running game. At the end of the day, you need an above average defense and a little balance on offense to win a Superbowl.
Brad Johnson won a Superbowl with the Bucs. He's not a top 50 QB. Defense won it.
Superbowl rings are a little overrated. They're important in your legacy but not a determining factor in defining who was great or not. Len Dawson is not half the QB Peyton Manning is but they have the same number of rings.
Around Detroit here I heard sportcasters on the radio saying today's game didn't matter since the 2 worse teams were playing each other, but it did matter. In the win column and the lose column it doesn't say this team was bad or good it just shows the wins or losses. So, Detroit just got another "L" on their list, and they were the favorite, getting 4 points. Argh...if you don't watch football, don't start!
Just an observation here, but I find it amusing that after Favre has a 4 TD 0 Int game in Lambeau, no comments from the nay sayers!
Naysayer here.
I find it amusing that after a missed field goal, 5 sacks, 3 fumbles, a dismal 60% red-zone efficiency, and a horrible first half against the Favre led Vikings (who are having a great season so far) that Rodgers still nearly led the packers back to a victory in the second half.

Really, what does that have to do with Favre? He had a near perfect game for cryin out loud. Rodgers had a great game too. The problems were that the GB offensive line is shit, their run game has no juice and their special teams were AWFUL. It was a shootout and the Vikings just had the better players. The qb performances were about a toss up, considering Favre had all day to throw.
