Isn't the public transit close to a strike or something?????

Yes. The Septa workers voted to go on strike, although I don't believe it's gone into effect yet. If Friday comes and they still haven't gotten the concessions they're looking for I would suspect this thing will actually go into effect. The city has announced that they have a backup plan ready to be implemented which would prevent any major delays. However as of last night they had yet to announce what that plan is, so everything is still up in the air. All I know is that if this weekend comes and Septa is on strike, with no functional backup plan in place, the stadium area will be chaos. I'm hoping we get some updates over the next couple days regarding this issue.

i finally had a real cheesesteak before I went to Game 5 of the NLCS. Went to that joint on broad street right on the way to the ballpark, right next to that gas station, right off of 76....

Went the whole 10 yards with the cheese whiz, peppers & onions....
    It was very impressive.

Big tailgate on the 30th. Im bringing some Buffalo with me. Making some roast beef on kimmelweck sandwiches with Miller's horseradish

Yeah, that's Talk of the Town. Not bad at all.

Perhpas slightly off topic, but I'll be in Philly for the whole week and does anyone know if there are any cool record stores in Philly? And if they are in the general vacinity of the venue? Just looking for someting to do Thursday besides recover from Tuesday and Wednesday.

It's right near South St, which is something to check out if you've got time to kill. Get a slice at Lorenzo's while you're down there! It's on the same block as the TLA.

South Street Taco - buy a cheesesteak from Jim's, then a slice from Lorenzo's. You roll the cheesesteak in a slice of Lorenzo's.

These assholes call it a Philly taco....
