  • Does it really even matter if they top Bruce. NO.

If Pearl Jam plays for 5 minutes or 5 hours, I don't care, I'm just grateful I'm seeing them.

uh, yes you would care if they only did one or two songs in a PJ concert. Don´t exagerate :!: :o
IN THE DARK, ALL CATS ARE BLACK.
  • Springsteen blows...with that said, PJ will never top this performance in the sense of setlist or length of show...they don't give a shit about such things...though I would love them to prove me wrong....a little too lazy for this kind of effort...and, no, I am not kidding.... :(

You know, I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I couldn't disagree with you more. Check out the setlist. I don't see ANY filler there...

How anyone... and I mean ANYONE who loves rock music today can be so disrespectful of someone who has contributed so much and influenced so many is beyond me. So his music's not your taste - that's fine. But you have to respect him and what he's produced and what he's accomplished. You have to, because he inspired people - Eddie Vedder, amongst countless others - to pick up a guitar and start writing and recording.

If you can't see that, you're just plain ignorant.

Not one of those songs bruce played is under 4 min. The man doesn't speak at all and hardly ever takes encore breaks. I wish ed take a lesson from this and shut the fuck up and sing. Yea we get it, you're for the dems and all. He plays for 3 hours and 10 min or more every night. Pj barely plays for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Some nights pj doesn't even hit that 2 hour and 30 min mark

Do you know the story behind that? The original album cover was gonna be his telecaster in front of his ass, but instead, he put the hat in his pocket. The story behind that is Bruce was drinking in a bar during the photoshoots/other stuff for finishing "Born in the USA", when he came across one of his old friends from Freehold, whose father had just died. Bruce asked him for his hat, and he said something along the lines of "whenever you see this hat, I want you to think of your dad". Sure enough, that hat is what appeared on the album cover. I thought it was a pretty sweet story.

You really need to just put that in your signature so it shows up everytime because its pretty cool.

To the other people about blowing - You may not like Springsteen, you may not want to listen to him, fine. But he does not blow. He is quality music that you just happen to dislike (like me and Phish - never could get into 'em, but I can hear quality in their music) Limp Bizkit blows, just for perspective.

Honestly, I had no idea the show was that long until I checked my phone after it was over. The show just flowed. And if Bruce did that on Tuesday I didn't notice. As far as I can remember he only stopped maybe a couple of times to thank the Philly fans and to say goodbye to the first arena he ever headlined and then after American Land introduced the band. Other than that it was all music.

And Ed goes on some pretty long pointless rants sometimes like endorsing a candidate for Seattle mayor this year at the show.

LOL, exactly dude. Bruce has been known all these years for his marathon shows and legendary live performances, but its all bs. He only plays about 2 hours of actual music, the other 90 minutes he spends "chit chattn" with max and little steven

"c'mon stevie "( could also be "big man" , "max" or "professor" ) is about the extent of the chit chatting these days.

whens the last time you trolls have seen Bruce, anyway?

He used to talk alot, back in the 70s.

The Bruce crowds I've been apart of can hold their own ,
( Guess i'm one of the " old " folks referred to earlier   ) ......

especially when compared to the majority of over-drunkish PJ adolescent fans .
( there really is no "comparing ", there are easily an equal ammount of Bruce fans who love him and his band that there are for fans of Pearl Jam...... )

You couldn't be further from the truth. In the 3 bruce concerts I have been to never once has he chit chatted with the band as you so like to put it. ed is the one who will go on rants bout the war or some iraq soilder or something bout how good it is to have a dem in power who btw isn't much different from the previous president. Maybe if ed wouldn't go on a banter maybe pj would actually play 3-4 hours show

I am neither a dem nor a repub I am a free thinker and don't fall for bs like the average dumbass person

Good call metsfan, i would have replied soon by tripped over mine on the way to my computer ;)

I also care when I see untrue or unfair things published, which was the motivation behind my post. I like both bands for different reasons and often wonder if there had been no springsteen, or queen, or no ramones, black flag, neil young etc etc etc, or no kiss even would there have been a pearl jam? We must give credit to what came before. And I am so down on Kiss after seen Stanley sledging other bands at MSG a last week.
