    at least it’s not ice kills nine and limp discobizkits. Those just don’t do anything for me. I’d rather have a decent opener than a place holder. 
    I thought about seats too but ended up going +2 for GA for Blacksburg

    Grabbed a 2 day floor ticket as well. Thought it was a good price, at $200/night.

    Pantera is solid with this line up. Zakk does Dime justice without being flashy. Really, he's understated in his approach to the work. Drummer is capable as well. Saw them headline Sonic Temple on a Saturday this year.... The whole show is really a tribute to the brothers. pictures/video on the screens..... Keep an open mind and enjoy. I did.

    Was planning to visit friends in Houston next year, so now we timed it for when Metallica is play.   Just missed out on snake pit tickets with my legacy membership, so we bought in the seats in the centre field area about 25 rows up.   Haven't seen Metallica since 2012.  Should be good.

    There certainly is a connection between Kirk and Joe Satriani.  I can recall back June of 97', I had just finished an Aids Ride 3. It was from NC-DC 355 miles in 4 days. It was Father's Day and I treated myself to checking out Metallica by buying a ticket off the streets.  It was 7th row on the aisle, where I had space to stand away from the seat. I was on Kirk's side of the Jiffy Lube Amphitheater in N VA.  At some point in the show Kirk's playing some solo in front of me and POINTS directly at me. I looked behind because I just knew he couldn't be calling me out. He shook his head and pointed at me again. It hit me and I looked down in my shirt and I had a JS shirt on with his big head prominently showing. I pointed at my shirt and that's when Kirk mouthed YES and gave me a thumbs up 👍 and later flipped me a 🎸 guitar pick. The whole scene and show made my long day on Father's Day.

    Saw them first in 1985 at Donington, started with Creeping Death. Also saw Cliff’s last UK show in ‘86 but went  off them after …Justice. Saw them for the 10th time in Warsaw in the summer and they were great!

    Ha, from that show the only two things I could remember.  The buying of the ticket because it was close to the actual cost $60. The dude I bought it from was really cool. The other was the scene with Kirk. I really don't remember much else about the show. I rode about 60 miles that day and just overall tired from 4 days of riding. 

    As for the pick, I have no earthly idea where I put the thing. Back then at the time I was going through many life transitional events, mainly a divorce. I do believe someday when I retire and go through my stored musical stuff I will come across it. Along with other musical things I've gotten over the years at the 💯 of hundreds of concerts I've been to and seen.

    I just checked something and I was so wrong. Metallica played Nissan Pavillion June 21, 1998 and that date was Father's Day. After I posted I knew something was wrong because I remember at the rides end, my daughter being mad and asked me,
     *Where were you daddy?* There's no way she could've asked that at a being a year old.
    I said Jiffy Lube Amphitheater which was named so after 1998. It has some other name now I'm sure of it. I had to check myself.😎

    Yes, that is what is said, in the link video....METALLICA Rip Off of Joe Satriani. JS taught many guitarists out of California he was that good and serious about playing guitar.
    Kirk wanted to learn from the best at the time and he most certainly did.
