Heading out to Bruce on the 10/13 show in Philly at the Spectrum, playing all of Born to Run...pretty cool

I was wondering if Bruce may show up at the Halloween show since he will be in the area of n.y/philly around that time, he is playing at the R&R show w/ U2...and so on at NYC on Fri. night.,...

let the Philly rumors begin..as since the L.A shows where something, I imagine Philly could be even bigger, crazier and better than L.A, Calf. ANYDAY!!!!!!

I'm seeing Bruce on Friday at Giants Stadium. He's doing the entire 'Born In The USA' on this night which is kinda cool becasue as a 16 year old, that wasw the album that opened my ears to him. I hope he plays The River and even American Skin.

Anyone else from here going? I'm arriving in New York at JFK at about 3:00 and will head straight out to the stadium after checking in to my midtown hotel. It'd be cool to meet some New York based Pearl Jam fans who are going to this gig.

Saw him last week(Darkness) and he put on a amazing show. You are in for a treat!!! I can not make it but I have no doubt you will find some cool people to hang with. Even if they are not PJ fans

another thread on this subject ?

I would seriously doubt Bruce coming back to Spectrum after he does the album sides there,
but I guess with him you never know for sure, afterall, he is The Boss.
Here on The Pit , theres alot of Bruce stuff here.

I was at Giants Stadium last night, probay the best of the 4 shows so far .
I'll be back out in the swamps of Jersey tonight for the Grand Finale , fireworks and all .

It'd be even cooler if Eddie drops by on one of the nights and duets with Bruce. I've always thought Eddie could do well singing Thunder Road!

    10-13-04 - i was there, &
it was still great, as much as Bruce butchered his parts ,
especially the big man solo as well as the professor .
Whhats the bigger deal here is ed singing Darkness On the Edge Of Town. This proves that Ed can own any song by any other artist he sets out on, in my opinion .

  • On 10/31, I think we could get Bono and/or Springsteen. Or nothing.

    Probably gonna be nothin.

Though I am seeing Springsteen on 11/2, so Ed could show up there too.

Never know, but I am rarely so lucky.

    personally
I am really tired of all the speculation regarding special guests

further, whenever there is a special guest, PJ is so indulgent that the music often gets lost

    two exceptions:
that mountain song and cornell when they do hunger strike

    other than that
I would prefer, nothing but PJ

    ben harper stay home! :lol::lol::lol:
  • If Bruce appears on stage at either one of my two Spectrum shows I'll walk out. Hopefully
it would be last song of the second encore. That way it wouldn't be a totally wasted night.

    Really guys

I know not all these artists are your favourites and yep, a song can be 'butchered' but let's show some respect for the artists and Pearl Jam's desire to jam or duet with them. I wonder how many rolling stone fans think Ed 'butchered' wild horses (I think it is beautiful).

Seeing Jerry Cantrell two nights in a row was awesome, but I'd be just as happy if they wanted to drag Neil Diamond up on stage - it's the band giving themselves and their fans something special.

    No need for negativity.

Bono butchered "Rockin' in the Free World" in Toronto in 2005--and it was incredible. I've never seen a building go off like the Air Canada Centre did that night...well, with the possible exception of the Air Canada Centre when Eddie joined U2 to sing "Ol' Man River." Seriously, if anyone drops in, it'll rule. And if that person should happen to be Bruce Springsteen, those in attendance should consider themselves the luckiest human beings on the face of the planet/possibly in the whole history of the human race.

    PJ could cover that :lol::lol::lol:
  • On WMMR (Preston & Steve) they were talking about the PJ shows in LA during the music news. Then they talked about the Philly shows saying "there will be a SPECIAL GUEST for the Halloween show". Could be Bruce, could be Bono, could be Joe Shit the Rag Man, any way you cut it going to be a great show. I can't wait!!!! :D

Wow, thats amazing, in my opinion it is THE greatest bruce show ever. The versions of prove it, backstreets, shes the one, the promised land.....just incredible, the best ever versions of those songs.

On one of the bruce message boards theres a huge discussion about whether that show was videotaped, cuz most winterland shows were filmed by the in-house cameras. Check out this video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt8st4k-OxE

Apparently the 2 clips that run from 21 seconds to 24 seconds are from winterland, if you see pictures from that show the clothes match up perfectly with those 2 clips. Id consider cutting off my arm to see that show on dvd. Theres a 30 year anniversary edition of darkness on the edge of town theyre working on, apparently theres gonna be a dvd of a 78 show, the msg shows in august and the houston show in december were both filmed and 1 of them will probably be included in the set. Cant wait

Yeah, I'm really hoping that they release the 30th anniversary edition of Darkness...my parents were lucky enough to see both the New Haven (my hometown) and the Springfield shows...I've heard both and they're incredible...actually every 78 show was incredible.
