Worst Fan Club Seat for MSG == 22nd row?

I've been hearing people ask this a lot and I actually was thinking about it as well. Ergo, I tried to work it out. So if the 1000 fan club ticket rule is in fact true, then the worst that you can get is the 22nd - 23rd row, no? 44 seats in a row x 22 rows equals 968. I have a +400,000 number but would be extremely pleased with a 20th row seat. Did I overlook something?

In 2003 for night 2 I was wayyy in the back, front row. Behind where the hockey net would be. Not on the floor. They must have more tickets for the MSG shows. My number is 196,xxx

Well was that not before the 1000 rule? There were what 9000 10c seats in MSG '03? That'd push everything. But all I'm hearing about is this 1000 10c rule.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this. Either they will have more seats this time around, or alot of the seats are corporate, or this is true and we all get kickass seats :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt they start getting close to the stage lower bowl seats for fanclub members in 06. The theory was that those seats are better than 20 rows back on the floor.
Persoanlly, Id rather be in a lower bowl seat near the stage, than 11 rows back on the floor. It is a clear view over the top of everyones head about the same distance away.

If i was going to a show in the U.S. then i'd definitely prefer a seat in the lower tier as opposed to far back on the floor. Like you said, great view and no chance of any heads in the way! And, a great view of everyone on the floor going nuts :)

they do use the wings as opposed to the back of the floor.

as for a 1000 ticket limit...i have not heard of that. what has been going around is 10% of the venues capacity, so at MSG that would be 2000 tickets or so...

In 2000 I was more than 1/2 way back on the wing, past the red line. This was in allotments and I was late getting to the venue, maybe 5 or 6pm. #172xxx. Still hoping for a wing not floor. Will take 1/2/9/10 obviously.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

not 1000 tickets, 1000 10c members...2 tickets per member...do the math...it really rounds out to be more like 40 or 50 rows.

I had seats next to the sound board in Montreal back in 2000. Let me tell you about how much those seats sucked ass.

NOTE: these were not fan club tickets

the fan club does not get every single seat on the floor...
    or every single good seat.
there are comp seats given to friends of the band and stuff...
    and that sort of thing.

and we don;t even know how many tickets were available for the fan club
so i think it's impossible to know where you're seats are gonna be.

Is it possible to know exactly where your seats will be? No

Is it possible to use math and statistics to get a guesstimate? Absolutely

MSG has more coporate sponsors than maybe any arena in the U.S, so there is no way that 10C can get all the seats on the floor. Also i know for a fact that MSG has an exclusive contract with American Express, who is MSGs biggest sponsor, that they get a lot of tickets to every event only for AMEX cardholders. Not only do they get many tickets but they do not sell them for face value, i know this from trying to buy tickets to another MSG show this year. The tickets they do have though are very good seats but at unfair prices, and would prevent the 10c from all the best seats, but the 10c has never let me down so I am sure the seats for MSG will be good.

Someone posted a seating plan in another thread that showed 44 seats in a row on the floor which is only partly correct. if you look at the msg website, you can click on different views of the stadium and can actually count each seat. it shows 44 seats across in the first few rows, and then the rows get slightly wider for the rest of the way back. Just thought i'd throw that factoid out there to keep people's hopes up for getting better seats.

In '03 I had seats on the first balcony both nights. They stunk. And the section I was sitting in the first night was contest winners, and they didn't care for the band at all. They were just there for a free show. And my # is 275xxx.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

ding ding ding we have a winner

There will be fewer 10c seats this time, and the 10 will not have all of the first 20 rows or whatever.

10c will have a lot less seats this time. No question about it.

TM has a new rule limiting fan club seats and they now auction off some of the best seats themselves. And dont forget the media members, this is especially true at MSG, the media capital of the world.

Make no mistake, your MSG seats, realtively speaking, will not be as good as other venues, you will see a huge difference between MSG and say Camden, or even mansfield. Just dont expect much and you will be pleasantly surprised.

American Express cardholders do not get access to ALL events at MSG. I have an eligible Amex card, I just called and was informed that Pearl Jam was not an event that they had access to. Just wanted to clear that up. There's hope yet!

Those seats that year were done in blocks so the earlier you arrived the better. I picked up tickets late and got one of the wings on Stone's side, very low. Very good seats but not on the floor. My # is 86xxx.
