You eat baby oranges? How do you live with yourself?

    indeed they are!
they are perfect in every sense, imo of course. ;)
i really don't need to eat any more fruit at all. i could stand to eat more 'real' veggies, b/c even amongst fruits classified as veggies, really...they are fruits - peppers for example. i believe anything with seeds is considered a fruit, not a veg. that said, if i just upped my broccoli and leafy greens to be sure to get something from those categories, daily, id be ok in the veggie dept. too. if i ate ALL the time as i do M-F during my workday, and usually my weeknights (sans wine)...i would be crazy-healthy food intake wise anyway. i'm workin' on it. ;)

I sorta detest veggies. That's the hard part. I've tried doing veggies for dinner and I've wound up hating dinner. I like corn...carrots...that's pretty much the extent of my veg eating. Maybe cucumber with lime and chile, otherwise yuck!

I tried to get into Wine for a while. I like whites. Especially Rieslings! I can't get used to drinking anything warm. I won't even drink my water if it's room temp. Maybe one day.

I only eat sliced apples. I won't bite it. I'm weird like that too... I don't like meat on the bone either but that's not for this thread.

clementines are soooooo good and I can eat too many in a day. I would bring them to work and just line 'em all up on my cube wall. Everyone eats them with me. The way you and I go back and forth we should probably PM!

I'm inhaling grapes right now! yum!

red wine is not meant to be drunk warm. you should pop it in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving. so no, certainly not ice cold, but not warm, either. just an fyi. i like my beverages ICE cold, but wine is my exception. :D

oh good....i am not too weird then. ;)

hahahahahaha. clementines are too expensive to share like that! :P i bring 3 into work daily, and i try to keep my daily consumption of them to that. y husband eats them too, so you bet, a big bag of em disappears in a week. and grapes, yes! i've ODed on red grapes this summer, sooooo good! tho now they are getting 'eh', but luckily, clementines are back! also, grapes are crazy-expensive too! actually, so much is! we have an excellent korean market, usually great produce and prices, but i don't always like making n extra trip or stop, b/c i would still have to go to the regular grocery store, the korean place just doesn't carry enough of everything we need.

and hey, we are ON topic, so sure...no need to PM. ms. haiku is participating now too!
 as are others, sporadically, joining in. can't help it if work is slow, slow, slow lately...and yes, i am passionate about fruit.

i hear ya on the veggies. i like a good #, but they are mostly dinner food. sure, there are always salads and such, but i easily get burnt out on em. fruit is just so quick and easy, and soooo tasty....i find i eat much more of it. that said, it still is so good for you, and it's got to be better than eating so many other, bad, choices!

    ahhhh....lunch in a few!

btw - corn is technically a grain. ;)
    cucumbers = seeds = technically a fruit.
so the only veg you like is carrots.

it's amazing just how many veggies really aren't 'veggies'...dunno how or why they got mis-labeled. probably b/c fruit is more of a snack, and veggies more of a dinner? dunno. fruit is just easier. i find all the vegs i like i prefer cooked, or chopped up, or only with certain things, etc, etc. thus why, if i eat an omlette, i try and have it with spinach, b/c that is yum in eggs! do things like that and it oes all help.

    ok, time to EAT.

Yup, red grapes is what I'm eatin' and I got them 'cause they were crisp on on SALE! I think I've had enough because I just ate half the bag. I feel kind of ill. heheheh oh well! At least I'll be full for a while.

Yeah, I just can't get into the taste of veggies. I've tried. I've tried adding broccoli to cheese.....twice baked potatoes...egg....it just tastes so bad. Many guys I know will eat whatever, no matter the taste because they don't want to waste food or they know it's good for them. I just cannot do that. I have to like what I eat. Or I promise I will vomit. I just can't force it down! I get a talking to for that sometimes. I always tell my boyfriend that if the food is kid friendly, I'll pretty much 99% love it! Sad, I know. I just never grew into liking veggies like all the grown ups used to tell me I would.

Work is slow here...hence my quick replies as well. Though, being the department that I'm in I know we track web usage. But oh well. What do you do? Yeah yeah...stay off, I know!!!!

Amazingly, people eat broccoli without being forced. That still boggles my mind. Broccoli is a reason why the uber-juicer was created. I'm not good at eating veggies (except tomato sauce :D ) Hey I bet the USDA counts it as a veggie.

the trick with broccoli for me anyway is this: it must be cut into small pieces, it must be fresh and firm, it must be mixed with other veggies and it must be SPICY. then, it is awesome. in almost all other forms i find it repulsive. i cannot eat cauliflower b/c in no form whatsoever do i find it tolerable. i find many, many veggies...the only way i find them at all tolerable or enjoyable, is in similar circumstance to broccoli.

as far as tomato sauce - YUMMM! and do ya know? one of the HEALTHIEST ways to consume a tomato?! it is actually BETTER than eating it raw, which is very rare since cooking usually destroys/lowers nutrients, but in the case of the tomato, cooking releases more lycopen. win-win! and the only way i eat tomatoes is as above like broccoli...and i LOVE it in the form of sauce, or salsa.

    btw - juiced broccoli?! = YUCK! :x

you don't want to talk fruit? :D
    thanks!
i know more advanced search function exists here, i just miss the one where you could click on a member's name (even your own) and there was a choice to 'search threads created by this user' as well as the other choice we still have, to search a user's posts. i found it infinitely helpful b/c oftentimes i would remember who started a thread, but not the exact title. it was so quick and easy....and accurate. but i may bookmark that too, so much appreciated.

on topic: i just ate my last clementine of the day and it was delish. 8-)

I know it's weird but I love any marinara or tomato sauce(but not soup ick!)!

It's so goooooooooooood! I will vomit if I taste a raw tomato, however. Yuck

i thnk we might be related. i despise tomato soup. i 'try' to like it, but.....YUCK.
i can handle raw tomatoes, under the conditions i list for broccoli above - cut up small and mixed with something else. and i have learned to really like tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella, tho i LOVE that combo more sans tomato, add in proscuitto.

anyhoo, tomatoes are awesome for you! so enjoy your sauce - just check for added sugar! - and yes, technically, tomatoes are a fruit.

My old roommate used to make the best pasta sauce ever and I think the only ingredients were tomato sauce, sugar, garlic, and olive oil. Maybe salt. I LOVED it. But I can't replicate it. So I'm stuck with prego. I tend toward the sweet sauces.

Oh! And I can eat cut up tomato...only in my grandma's turkey chili! But that's off topic....

I watched Chopped last night on the food channel and all I could think about was FOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!
