I like that system, and will be breast-baking :giggle: since it'll just be us both. Gotta look up some recipes.

To your question, PECAN PIE. Like the really rich buttery crust kind.

Ever just say screw it and dig into decadence?

    Yes when craving

it's off putting when someone sleep around with a few people instead of a close companion, don't you think..

Well, I suppose that would have to depend upon whether the "close companion" is viewed as a "close companion" relationship by both and not just one. Wasn't quite my style, but there are people who roll that direction and it works fine for them.

    Back to Thanksgiving . . .

Stuffing on the side or stuffing from out of the bird?

I believe the only correct answer to that is.. yes!

Sweet potato casserole with mashmallows on top - isn't it delicious?!

Stuffing on the side, otherwise not fluffy like we like it.

    Sweet potato casserole...yes!!!!!! So good!

Do you usually prepare Thanksgiving dinner or go to someone else's house?

Usually at my sister's but circumstances, for better or worse, are having me do the meal here for just my honey and me.

Feels bittersweet this year in ways, but I'm looking forward to the rituals of fixing everything - fine, most everything - and the glorious scents of the day.

Anyone else slightly pissed off that Christmas commercials have already kicked in?

(fuck you, Audi - it is not yet "your season")

Yes, I hate it but only because I have ADD so I get easily distracted so I tend to look at every, fucking, stupid thing in the store and the trip takes me like 2 hours. Even if I bring a list. Can be kinda fun if I have a lot of free time. But I'm also sometimes cheap as hell so I'm that annoying woman who's blocking a whole section as she's trying to find the cheapest brand, down to the penny.
However, I try to lessen others' aggravation with me by only going during dead times.

What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
  • Crazy little distracted ladies in the grocery store. =)

Does going outside your house fill you with anxiety?

    Depends on which end.
Back...no because I'm likely going to smoke or drink or something fun.
Front...sometimes. Depends on where I'm going and who will be there.

What annoys you the most about people?

Sometimes just being fills me with anxiety.

Ready for some calm times? I sure fucking am.

Yes, please. Ain't gonna be for me for a while, so I just have to grab hold and hang on.

    Snickerdoodles!!

Do you have any old metal cookie cutters inherited from relatives?
  • No I'm the first baker in a couple of generations so I had to go and get my own.

Have you ever made fruitcake from scratch?

No, but I have a family recipe - my grandmother who was born in Ireland used to make it from scratch. It involves hard candied frost and pouring whiskey on it Christmas Day and setting it ablaze.

Have you ever made a pumpkin pie from scratch (one of the few I have not had the patience to do from scratch - pumpkin scraping sucks)

I have. I told my husband that it would be a one time gig. There is a reason why they sell that stuff in a can. It was the most delicious pumpkin pie I've ever had.

    Tired?

Not yet but I will be. Had a busy weekend in Vancouver and now still need to catch up on all of those weekend chores that didn't get done. (And by the way I've made a pumpkin pie from scratch. It smelled putrid during the pumpkin-roasting process, but tasted great).

Do you take any vitamins or other supplements?

You both have my pie making respect!

Yes, I take Holy Basil, Gingko Bacoba, Ashwaganda, B12 in liquid form, CoQ20, Acidopholus, Super B Complex and a Multi-Vitamin. I take serotonin if I can't sleep.

    Same question?

    Hmmm, tough one.

Somewhere among Hopkins, Walken, Cassavetes, Bridges and Eastwood, plus earlier eras of Pacino and DeNiro.

OK, no - Peter Sellers is my choice for now. Class act, but twisted and funny as fuck.

Ever seen the pot brownie scene from I Love You, Alice B. Toklas?
